Fail to plan / plan to fail! - Salvage yard problem
Well, I've sort of painted myself in a corner on my salvage yard in that I don't have enough space for trucks to enter to drop off salvage. Here's the way the yard looks at present:

San Diego's Tehachapi Layout.
I was able to manage a visit to the San Diego Model Railroad museum during a recent vacation.
I got lucky and visited on a Sunday when the club was having a 12 hour long operating session based on TT/TO and centered on the late 70's / early 80's time frame.
We arrived shortly after 1 and my wife made the mistake to tell me that I "could stay as long as I wanted to." Big mistake!
I was asked to leave a little after 5 when they closed the gates!

Forum Etiquette - please and thank you
I guess that I'm old fashioned, but my parents taught me please and thank you. So l'll use them now: Most people do use "please" when asking for help on this forum; however, I see many times where the question is answered and the original poster never even says "thank you". A little good manners goes a long way! Please think about this when posting!

Plastruct Florecent rod question
Has anybody used this stuff? I'm building a set of crossing signals for a diorama and need a light source other than actually illuminating the signals. I tried red fiber optics but when I cut the piece to size it lost almost all the ''glow'' it had before cutting. The piece was 12'' long and has a really nice red glow when backlit, but when you cut a piece to a smaller size, say 1/8'' the smaller piece loses pretty much all the glowing effect.
DC Controllers use
Sadly, I am looking at getting rid of my DC equipment after two medium sized layouts. Any ideas on sale of two MRC trainmaster controllers? Are these of any use to anyone in DCC or only DC?

Tram House
The Ophir Tram House was used to process and transfer the raw ore from the mines to rail cars. This was done by bringing the raw ore in through the rear of the building on a suspended aerial tramway and storing it in a bin to be later loaded in rail cars.
Great Northern Freight Schedule June 1 1957
Recently found a GN freight schedule while doing a search. However, I didn't have much luck trying to match arrivals & departures maybe someone else can. LOL

Weekly Photo Fun - June 10 th to June 16th, 2016
Awesome work everyone last week! Time to start of this week's photo thread!
As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

A question for you DCC / Decoder Pro experts out there.
In my Soundbox for my layout I have three TSU-1000 decoders: one for ALCO, one for EMD, and one for GE. I've been using Decoder Pro to set some of the features, but I can't figure how to set one feature; that is, the "wind down" rate of the primer mover. Right now for all three decoders it takes too long (in my opinion) to "wind down" the prime mover sound as I reduce the throttle.
So, can someone please help me by providing info on what area (specifically) in Decoder Pro I need to adjust along with some suggested values?

It's here! My new HH660 L&N #10 Atlas Gold locomotive!
My Fathers Day gift has arrived, and of course I had to check it out (just in case there was a problem with it) so I did a quick switching move. I really like it; however, it does have quite a bit of gear noise in that I can hear it over the QSI sound. I'll break it in and see if it improves (yes, there is plenty of lube on the gears). Here's a short video of it in action:
