How can I make this better?
I have a building that I am working on and I would like some input on how or what I should add to make it spectacular. I am working on putting windows and doors in, they are in the paint booth. All suggestions welcome.

#NMRAcontest Chicken Coop
Thank you to @GregW66 for posting about the contest the NMRA Facebook page is having. After seeing his post I ordered my Dannen feed and starting to brain store about what I wanted to build. The strucutre itself has is only an HO scale 15'x19' making it not much an an industry but one heck of a nice shed. I was looking at the shape of the structure and decided that it was a bit tall for my needs and had some interesting angels, then it struck me, I could make it into a chicken coop. Part of the inspriation may have been the chickens in our backyard...
Transformer feature identification
This question will reveil my reentry into the Modeling Hobby. After many, many years away, I am busting
at the seams to get rollin again.
My main concern now ,out of many to follow, is the basic DC transformer to restart . Here is the part about ( many years)
My old collection is run by an MRC Throttle Pack Model 3 made some time in the 1970s.
I'm reading about DCC, but will not jump in that for awhile. What I do need is a throttle pack that provides
Reassembling an Atlas HO C40-8 ? How?
I have an Atlas Silver series HO C40-8. I bought it new 12 years ago (about). It is "DCC ready".
The shell was fairly simple to remove. Inside it takes an 8 pin decoder. Pretty straightforward, although the way they built the unit is a jumble.
Now, how do you get the shell back on?! The front end by the cab is hanging up on something and will not go all the way down on the frame. I have spent an hour on it and no luck. The decoder is not the issue.
Milk traffic in Georgia and other southeastern Atlantic states
Hi All,
In his book “Mid sized and manageable track plans”, Iain Rice has an interesting plan for a layout set in the Georgia/South Carolina border area, and includes a creamery as an on-line industry with its own spur, with a comment to the effect that it was not just the North East that carried a lot of milk traffic, but no more is said than that!
Does anyone have any info on this? Were there dedicated milk cars, was this in churns, or were there bespoke milk cars containing class-lined steel tanks for the bulk transport of milk?

Family Time
I spent a little time with my daughter, who is 5, building an Accurail hopper car. She has asked for pink railcars so when I find them I usually buy them. My son also has a few model railroad items that’s we have been working on including some car and building kits. I Dont expect them to become model railroaders but I at least hope they have good memories of time in the workshop.

All Aboard Train Show 2017 - Saskatoon
It's that time of year again. Took a visit to the Saskatoon All Aboard Model Train Show at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon yesterday and snapped some pictures. As always, the show is in the museum which is a bit dark in many places, so some of the pictures may not be up to snuff from a lighting standpoint, but most are pretty decent. Pictures to follow.
