Get reaaady to rummmble: Chopper vs Chop-it
Hi.
I know this sort of question has no real answer, but I know I want to get either a NSWL Chopper (which one), or a Micro Mark Chop It. I'm just not sure which. Would those of you who have used either, or preferably both, please give me some pros and cons for each so I can make an informed decision. Price will have some bearing on my decision but will not be the only factor. Thanks in advance for your learned advice.
Freelance Monon in the mid 1960s
Vimes Street first layout built from baseboards up, helped by club members of the Wakefield Railway Modellers’ Society. Freelance track plan set somewhere on the Monon in the mid 1960s.
RTR miscue...deal breaker or not?
Discussion on some forums,it was mentioned here also,is that the new Arrowhead Models car in the PRR version has some errors in the capacity data. It’s not yet confirmed if it was done on just a preproduction model or on all production models. For me this would not,is not, a big issue,I’ll be buying a few regardless. For some it seems the $50 price, with the lettering issue,is a deal breaker. Are these just people looking for a reason not to buy this car or is it a real issue?

Fowler box cars by Accurail
Has anyone seen or got one of the new Accurail Fowler box cars? I'm wondering how prototypical they are in regards to modeling the CNR types.
New Arrowhead Coal Hopper
Arrowhead has released their first car, a coal hopper. Details are on their website and youtube.
They also included a kit for building your own.
PRR, DRGW, and Southern are the road names.

Maybe we should go back to assembling kits
I have been reading about factories shutting down in China and people say why don't we move production back to the US.
But what ever happened to the time when we went to the hobby shop bought a box of parts and assembled our own kit ??
US manufacturers can shoot the parts and sell kits, but would you by a kit and assemble your own freight car?
Almost all of my freight cars have been assembled from kits, lets get back to modeling !!
Chucks depot
I was wondering if anyone has ever been to Chucks depot in Marion Illinois ?...looks like a great place to give some money away :-)

Is it possible to use these?
Hello All,
I am curious if it is possible to use such paints as the Michael's Applebarrel, craft Smart or Plaid Folkart paints in an airbrush. What would they have to be thinned with water, Alcohol? I have not used an airbrush and am curious if this could work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Railway Engineering Co
I recently had occasion to order from Railway Engineering. I've bought from them before and been pleased with the products. This time there was a problem with the order and when I brought it up with the vendor with a polite email I received a response that was erroneous, vulgar, and insulting.
There could be two or three reasons for the vendors outrageous response, but the end result is I won't buy from him any more. I'm posting this so others will know to be cautious.
