MRH coming to West Springfield, MA show?
Merry Christmas to all!,
Are any of the MRH staff coming to the West Springfield, MA (Amhearst) show on Jan 26-27, 2019? If so, maybe we can meet up on one of the days. What say you?

For lovers of steam AND Jeeps (the car kind)!
I've always loved Jeeps. I'm a diesel modeler at heart, but this short video just gave me a greater appreciation of steam!
If you're a steam and Jeep enthusiast, here is your heaven! :)

Train Hysteria
Fun topic... when trains first came into being, there was a lot of hysteria surrounding the new technology... from burning down cities, to making women too independent, to the health hazards of rail travel.
Let's see some of the hysterical/historical stories you've run across in your research of railroading!
This could be fun, and please, make it just fun!

Weekly Photo Fun December 23 - 29, 2018
HOLIDAY EDITION!
I saw there was no Weekly Photo Fun for this week, so, let's start it on a Sunday, shall we? Get it back on track, and since a lot of folks are going to have some Christmas trains, let's see em!
Trains on the ceiling?
I was doing a search today, and this photo popped up in the Google results. This was an early photo from Rob's Cornhill and Atherton blog. Note that it was just a small image on the results and was shown completely out of context. At first glance I thought someone had worked out how to run trains upside down on the ceiling. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be framing for a valance.

Remotor recommendations
I want to remotor possibly three of my Intermountain GP10s because the motors make too much noise.
I'd like to know what others have used for motor brands and if they've been satisfied. Obviously, I want a quiet motor with good pull and hopefully a unit that is resistive to BEMF buzz.
A-Line sells Mashima motors and I've heard Kato motors are good, too. But I'm guessing there are other good choices out there. I'm interested in not only what brands but where to purchase as well.

Happy Holidays
To my friends on MRH Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Class C48 2-8-0 rolls away from the tower at Burnham circa 1944, models are scratch built and PFM.
Has anyone successfully made a very small static grass applicator?
I've been using my home made applicator for a couple of years and it works great.......but, when I try to make a smaller version to get into tight spaces I have not been able to get the same results. I can think of several reasons why but just hoped that someone has figured this out so I can reserve some of my brain cells for other issues. Or, in plain English.... I'm lazy.

Track cleaning block for $1.25
In one of the other threads which was about track cleaning someone mentioned the "Sandflex Tool Cleaning" block. I purchased a fine grit one for $7.50 on Amazon and cut it into six pieces using a kitchen knife. The blocks work great for cleaning the track and only cost $1.25 each as opposed to a Bright Boy track cleaner which can cost $6.00 to almost $9.00 plus shipping. Here's a picture of my Sandflex cleaners:
Running Extreme Trains in Colorado
Check out the Extreme Trains running at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley, Colorado on Ken Patterson's Dec 17, 2018 podcast. Running 11 locomotives and 283 cars for a complete trip around the layout must have been fun. Rob I think you have some catching up to do.
