Track Nails
Hi Folks:
I am planning to nail my track down (Pushing it in via pliars into the cork and the homosate) giving a much firmer set than with glue (ive tried glue, and was not happy with it)
I am trying to find some good track nails and a matching drill bit that will work on atlas flex track. I have some #19 wire brads which are nice except that the head is a bit small on them. I am looking for a very slightly smaller nail with a bit more head on it -- I havent managed to find them by googling, so I am wondering if any of you know of proper nails
Decisions decisions decisions
Folks, I need your opinions. I am modeling a lot of new freight cars for my layout and presentation in my Limited Modeler column in RD. I am trying what compromised to make or not to make. Here is an example. Boxcar ends.
I want to work with the Accurail 40-foot USRA double sheathed boxcar. The ends of the model look like this (top) boxcar but this prototype is about a foot taller than what the Accurail model represents.

Venmo. . . Don't loose that sale
Our club had it's annual Model Railroad Swap Meet today. I purposely did not bring any cash as I did not need to buy anything.

A so easy to use paint which cost nothing...
I have already mentionned the use of cheap craft acrilyc paint to paint our models.
This is important for you because of the demise of Floquil and Polly scale.
Sure I don't ask to open again the debate, but I beleive many are looking too far to find a good color and pay too much for it.
I discover a few months ago the fabulous work of Jason Jensen; he use only CHEAP ACRILYCS CRAFT PAINT for his modeling paint work.

Joining Modules together RELIABLY
Hi Guys:
Being that I am getting older and REALLY dont want to be UNDER the layout any more than I have to, coupled with reading Joe Fugates article in MRH Running extra where he mentioned building his layout somewhat modularly, I like a lot of the ideas, the one concern that I have is getting the modules to ALWAYS line up so that track lines up -- IM thinking carriage bolts and wing nuts for fastening, but the indexing and getting the track to work right is a concern -- whats the recommendation?
