MRH Magazine general discussion
Single Edition Running Extra Checkout
Maybe I missed something.
But, is there a way to purchase a single copy of "Running Extra" without having to include my address and personal information through the Company Store ordering page?
I get you need an email address but there is no reason you need my home address and phone number which are required fields on the ordering page.
Also, I did not see an option to select "PayPal". Most site that take PayPal let you checkout through PayPal bypassing the vendors ordering page.

What has happened to the MRH Magazine?? :-(
I guess I was asleep and not paying attention to this "new and improved" change to the MRH magazine. I thought it was always going to be free, but now I see there's a $1.99 access fee to read the actual articles in the magazine.
<begin rant>
After a quick glance through this latest edition, this is how I see the "new" MRH now:

Run like a dream and running extra
Joe, I just wanted to extend a big thank you to you and everyone else that works behind the scenes at MRH.
The new Running Extra magazine is great and I commend you and the rest of the folks for your very responsive problem solving for the problems that come out.
I know you folks are very busy and was wondering how things are going with the third installment of Run Like a Dream. The first two books are excellent and I have recommended them to several people. I thought other folks might like an up date besides me so I posted an entry on the forum.

A good chuckle...
...over on MRR forums. Some guy trying to stir the pot and complaining about the new "two-tier" structure of MRH. A few of the guys explained that it isn't some gigantic surprise as we all knew it was coming and some reasons for it. Steve Otte locked it up in short order.

The Last Time Southern Pacific Used EMD SW-1200 Locomotives And Cabooses
To all railroad historians and Southern Pacific Railroad(SP) fans: When was the last time the Espee used EMD SW-1200 locomotives(switchers) for duty? When was the last time the Espee used cabooses for duty?

Nov issue release now Wed Oct 31
For lots of reasons, the likely release of the Nov issue of MRH and Running Extra is now Wed Oct 31.
Not only is doing two magazines more work this time because we have to kick off something entirely new (will be easier next time when we can just copy all the new stuff and change a few dates), but the last two weeks have been an emotional roller coaster for our family.
