MRH 2018 survey - Hobby health
In 2018, we did our most recent hobby survey. One question we had was about hobby health. Here are the results.
For all the "hand-wringing" threads about the hobby dying, it's less than 4% of our readers who hold this view. Most are more upbeat.
We got a lot of comments on this survey question. In the next post, a sampling of those comments.
Please helping find an article in a back issue about scratchbuilding
Hi,
I'm trying to locate an article about finishing 3 industries on a layout. HO scale. They were modern buildings. One was blue. It was about scratchbuilding. Any ideas which month that might be in?
Status: March MRH and March RE
The March issue has been delayed one day -- we had hoped to have it out by today (March 1), but it's not quite there yet.
March MRH: Sat, Mar 2nd
March RE: Sun, Mar 3rd
February was a short month and we need another day. March, on the other hand, has 5 Fridays, so we expect to be back to the last Friday of the month release for the MRH April issue, with RE a day later.

MRH style guide for writers
The annual update to the Model Railroad Hobbyist style guide for authors is now available at https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/authors/style-guide-doc and is available for downloading by aspiring authors and stylebook collectors.
If you saved an earlier version of the style guide, please delete the old version and use this one.

We're updating a number of back issue download links today.
You will see those updates appear in Recent posts -- that's what we're doing.
Update on the release of Feb MRH/RE **delayed**
The updated full release date for MRH magazine and Running Extra is now Thursday evening, Jan 31.
Also, we expect to release MRH for early review next Wed, Jan 30.
In the next post, I will relate some backstory around the later-than-normal release this month.

Now I see the plan for Publisher's Musings.
By incorporating some how-to information in the editorial, any comments on the editorial itself can be buried under comments on the how-to content and ignored...sorry, must have taken my cynic pill this morning.
