4 lane interstate highway

Is there a ho scale 4 lane highway with a divider between the 2 lanes, or do you have to combine 2 lane highways?  Thank you.

SAMRA Train Show, January 2017

The San Antonio Model Railroad Association (SAMRA) recently held their 41st Annual Train Show in San Antonio, TX. Before it got too crowded on Sunday morning, I was able to take a few videos of some of the club layouts that were at the show.  There is a large HO layout that has a really great looking refinery scene, then an O-scale layout that has a great circus with lots of music, and lastly, the N-scale layout with dinosaurs in the stock yard at their meat packing plant.

How to Model Static Grass Tufts.

This week I'm making static grass tufts.

I find it easier to do it in place most times now.

Coupler color?

Hi folks, I'm just finishing up 12 tichy 40ft flats. I painted the entire car, including trucks and wheels.

Now I'm just curios what is the consensus on the base color for the couplers. Then I was thinking of a top coat / dry rush of a dirt color.

What are some of the coupler painting techniques you all use?

White toner for laser printers - First test!

I just found out that a German company makes white toner for laser printers. You replace the black cartridge and print white instead of black. Supposedly works on any transparent decal paper.

Here's the link: http://www.ghost-white-toner.com/?lang=en

I just ordered one for a test, I will post as soon as I get it and have results.

John Canfield Tribute

DL&W RR CaboodeTo All: Recently deceased John Canfield produce limited run Early Rail HO scale car kits under his Virginia Car & Foundry banner. I bought two of his Bobber Cabooses. I painted one in the DL&W RR color scheme and one in my road color scheme. Though I never meet him, I appreciated his sense of humor and his fine craftsman kits. I bought most of his kits.

Shelf layout with helix question

Hey guys I have been contemplating doing a module layout but in the form of shelves.  The layout will be in a "U" shape with 2 main lines on each shelf.  I want to have one mainline going one way and the other going the opposite.  When it gets to the end of the shelf, one side will have a loop to go down the other main.  On the other side is my question er problem LOL.

Cutting Building in Half

This is a building that is part of a 3 structure mill complex. On my last layout it worked really well in it's full size state. Not anymore! So what is the best way to cut it in half length ways. You can see the part of the right side that is missing windows and has no weathering. I want to cut it between the weathered and non weathered sides on both ends of the building. I'm thinking either by hand using a small x-acto saw or with a dremel tol and cut off disc on slow speed.

Yet another turntable

Been a long time coming, with a generous helping of procrastination, but at last I can turn an engine

Going deadrail with Railpro

I've been curious as to how easy it would be to go full batter-powered with Railpro for some time.  I've seen a few other people do it, so I figured I'd give it a try myself.  Below is a quick overview of how I went about it.
