LED Lighting Strips
***Adendum: Please disregard this OP, in my research with your help here and in been delivered my proper lights...but there are still a few things to wrap up..getting there.***
I've been looking at LED light strip options for my shelf layout. In a perfect world I would have a valance and use my existing IKEA lights but the bulbs keep burning out and come in at $8.00 cdn a pop. So I am going the LED strip route. I prefer the spread of the LED lights and the price point is perfect.

Layout design Issues
Current layout is HO in a 10.5' x 14.5' room. Only obstacle is a door in the corner which is the room entrance. Lower right corner of plan.
I really like have a continuous run loop for rail fanning. So I need that bridge across the entrance. Problem is I have had 2 on 2 separate past layouts and both of them had seasonal issues. About every 3-4 months it would take some major fiddling to get them to work and not derail cars or locos. Layout/room drawing is 3rd photo down.
Special, Red Lopez Killer at Bingham Canyon.
Everyone should hear this story; it is an important part of Bingham Canyon history. The Bloodiest episode in Utah law enforcement history took place in 1913, when five officers and one civilian were murdered in the span of eight days.
Colour for Storefronts
Hallo,
I need some information about "standard" colours for wooden "false" storefronts.
I have on my workbench Bachmann's Pink Lady Boutique and the Main Street Apothecary.
Both kits seem to be rather on the scale side, but the colours are looking plastic and artificial.
Which colours would you recommend as typical for these type of buildings?

Unbelieable Modeling in Many Scales,....lots of photos
This is a very long subject thread on another forum. The photos of this gentleman's work is just unbelievable.
I've referenced this page where he discusses Z scale work he has done. Imagine this sort of detail in Z scale !!!
Lazy Paint Scheme Justification
I'm a big fan of Santa Fe's paint scheme but I'm also a fan of modeling from the 90's through current. Since this scheme ceased to exist around 1975 or so, I could go the easy route and just say my railroad so whatever but I would like a better story than that. Is this a matter of "patching out" the Santa Fe on each side or should I leave it alone? I have two Proto GP30's, an Athearn GP35 in the scheme, and I have my eye on those Scale Trains SD45's which admittedly too big for what I could do in my space.
Kato
Is Kato pretty much done building HO Locos? I don't see much to pick from. They appear to be concentrating in N scale. Always thought they were smooth runners.
Painting and Finishing the Exterior on the Gas Station Convenience Store Kitbash
Now with the paint on and finalizing of the exterior details its starting to look like the prototype.
A question about cardstock
I recently bought two packages of cardstock, both from Walmart.
The first is their Astrobrights line, supposedly 65 lb. The sheets are .008" thick.
The second is Pen + Gear (in the yellow package), described as 110 lb Premium Card Stock. It, too, is .008" thick.
As far as I can tell the two are identical.
I bought the 65 lb material because I wanted something lighter than the 110 lb, but that's not what I got. Could someone explain to me just what's going on?

Animating a Wood Chip Truck Dumper
Hello All,
I've been modelling a paper mill in HO Scale (details of which can be found my blog) based in part on three prototype facilities in Maine, where I've had hands-on experience in switching operations.
Of the three prototypes, perhaps the mill in Rumford, Maine boasts the most striking structural form.
