#NMRAcontest Chicken Coop
Thank you to @GregW66 for posting about the contest the NMRA Facebook page is having. After seeing his post I ordered my Dannen feed and starting to brain store about what I wanted to build. The strucutre itself has is only an HO scale 15'x19' making it not much an an industry but one heck of a nice shed. I was looking at the shape of the structure and decided that it was a bit tall for my needs and had some interesting angels, then it struck me, I could make it into a chicken coop. Part of the inspriation may have been the chickens in our backyard...
Plausible late 1960s Steam Tourist train?
Hi all,
I am thinking about making up a fictional yet plausible steam excursion / tourist train for my layout. Pasadena subdvision, California 1968-1970. I have some thoughts about this that i wanted to double check and get your opinions/feedback.
I know about the 3751 4-8-4 being the present time choice for such a train.
Same Bus for Tortoise & Lights?
Hi all,
I just finished wiring (sucessfully) the DCC bus/feeders on my new layout. My next step is to do the wiring for tortoises / control panel leds - signals / layout structure-roads lighting.
I am wondering if i am ok in using the same power supply (2-3A, 12V DC) and the same bus wire, for the tortoises AND the layout's led lights (for structures, street lights etc using resistors of course).
I am wondering if a separate power supply (3V) and a separate bus would make any difference here.
Live Catenary
Do any of you model live overhead catenary? I stumbled upon Mr Smith's videos on youtube by chance and after doing a back search here on MRH found this blog:

Paper building kitbashing
Over the past weekend I spent some time making the Flin Flon smelter area look more industrial. A few years ago I bought a CD of steel industry textures and kits from Clever Models <http://www.clevermodels.net> with the plan to use some or all of the items on the CD on the smelter and other areas.

I just purchased a NCE 5240002 PH-Pro-R (Power Pro-R) Wireless DCC Starter System. I am most excited. I want to buy an Alco RS3 with DCC control and sound. What manufacture and supplier would you recommend.
