Model Train Tools
My father-in-law recently died and left behind a wonderful collection of model trains he built. Needless to say we are keeping the trains, but I have no use for his tools. They were so lovingly stored I don't have the heart to throw them out and would rather pass them on to someone would appreciate them. Some of them, like a miniature press, he made himself. I have no idea what they are worth but I would like at least $200 to cover shipping and some of my time. There is a half-built engine and caboose, along with dozens of tools, drill bits
Portable Benchwork: How Heavy Is Too Heavy?
I am in the midst of building my portable layout benchwork. The size of the layout is approximately 3'x5'. I've opted to use 1x3 Poplar for the frame members, and 1/4" Maple Plywood for the table top. I estimate that as is, this combination weighs about 20 lbs. Ideally, I would carry the layout by itself, but if it requires two people, that's okay.
Is that too heavy?
What is a reasonable weight limit for a small, portable railroad?
I appreciate any suggestions you all have. Thank you.

Wow! I just opened the door to the world of 3D printing!
Hi! I just got started 3D printing! The resin printers are really cheap now and the detail they produce stunning! I made an inspirational video explaining my first steps and the process of printing.

Plastruct HO Spiral staircase
I have had an order in for this item with Plastruct for over a year now and I do not see them making these anytime soon. The machine they made them on is still not in operation. I would really like to complete the C & O coal tipple at Handley Yard however without the spiral steps I can not as it makes the tower. what it is. It was an unusual design including the exposed angle iron bucket lift. Most are covered in a concrete shell. So I am asking everyone to check their scrap boxes to see if they have any. Much thanks in advance.

Visiting the Skeene Valley Northern- Hear Stories From the Layout's Creator, a Retired Railroad Man!
This is without a doubt my most special layout visit ever. Listen to veteran, local legend, and retired D&H employee Jim Lafayette share stories from the railroad as we follow a local train around his Skeene Valley Railroad.
Update on my 3D printed tank car
Back in January of this year I had completed my alpha build of a ACF 4000 gallon welded tank car. This car was featured in an article in two past "Model Railroader" issues, with the most recent being June 1994, which reprinted the plans in an earlier issue from the 1950s.
