PSX Question

I turned my layout on tonight and one section of power district 1 did not have power to the rails. First step look for some thing shorting the track, tools etc. Then remove locos and check for derailments. None of that helped. So i took a close look at the PSX and noticed that D12 is on, but both D6 and D7 are not lit. Normally D7 is on if no short and D6 is on if there is a short in the track. I have 8 PSX boards with two as spares. When i first set up the system one of the boards had no output at J2 so one of the spares was used, so i know that the boards can fail.

April May update for the JAM

Greetings all. I have been working quite a bit on the new L portion of the Johnstown and Maryville Railroad. I added two new industries and just finished adding the town of Johnstown. While its not nearly completed, its far enough along to show the progress.

I used the Model Builder program from Evan Designs to make the brick street, then printed them on a color laser printer.

Atlas S2 S4 yellow box

Atlas Yellow Box S2 S4 B&M, I have a few, they ran great on DC , I had them converted to DCC because I love the smaller diesels, the guy did a great job, they ran really well at first but now they run fair to not so good depending on which one, I've done some research,  the wheels on these are Brass, and the pick ups rub the flange.  One in particular had started running in sputters, I removed wheels cleaned them and cleaned the pick ups best I could..Overall compared to new diesels I own these just run inconsistently on DCC and get dirty fast,  they also have s

Would there be an industry here?

Hi everyone. I need to get one more industry onto my shelf layout but not sure if it would be correct. Here is my current set up.

I have an industry at A and one at B. There is room for one more at X but not sure if any railroad would do that as any cars there would need to be shifted to get to A or B.

Can you advise?

Introducing a Newcomer to TT/TO

The discussion on Lightweight Ops contained a number of posts about TT/TO and the point that it is not for novices. But we were all novices at some time. I wanted to explain a local approach to introducing new operators to TT/TO. This is not the only way and I am sure that others have different ways of accomplishing the same thing.
