Modeling topic
Intermountain's new AC-12 Cabforward.
Hello all. Question?
Has anyone seen a better price than $379 (with DCC and Sound) on these new models coming out? I have seen this price on a couple of sites.

Ken Rickman - Modeling Kudzu Experiment
Ken,
I tried an experiment in modeling Kudzu. Below are the pictures of the technique and results.
On the left is the Woodland Scenics green poly fiber. On the right is the fiber pulled thin.

Latest Rolling Stock to Hit WN Rails
Here's a few shots of some of my latest weathering projects....a couple of Greenville 100 ton hoppers.
Replacement Universal for Proto S1
Hi All,
I've got a couple of Proto 2000 S1's that have sheared the little plastic "nubs" off the end of the universal joints, at the point where they locate into the brass flywheel.
Walthers no longer carry spare stock for these loco's, and the space between the gear tower and flywheel precludes using the A-Line Universal Kits.
Has anyone had this problem, and if so, can any one suggest a solution, that doesn't involve having to purchase a new or second hand loco for spares?

Adding a decoder to an old MDC loco
I thought this might be of interest to some folks here. I am working on installing a decoder in an old, very non-DCC-ready MDC 2-8-0. As it turns out, it's not difficult, but it helps to have some direction ahead of time.

How did you spend your vacation? (layout construction)
I took a nice little vacation for myself last week and spent it building the vast majority of the benchwork for my little model railroad. It took longer than expected, but I am exceedingly pleased with the results.

Modeling Kudzu?
Has anybody come up with a good way to model Kudzu?
I've been looking at the stuff all year (what do you think an engineer does, look down the track?) as I run through the countryside, and I've noticed a few things. For one, I like the look, the consistency of it. For another, it doesn't look anything like ground foam. Finally, it changes according to the season.
Why Is benchwork such a mess?
Everytime I go down to the basement I am forced to look at my benchwork. And every time I the same thought comes into my mind: How can get anything done in this mess. There are tools, materials and all sorts of other paraphernalia covering almost every inch of space. Am I the only one with this problem?
peco code 55 or 80 track for n scale
Hey guys in the new yr i will be starting to build my first layout which is a shelf point to point due to a lack of space and also being a rental place.
As im doing n scale i wanted to get some feed back on which track is better to use as i have noticed that peco has just bought out a 3 way point in code 55 track which would help with my yard.
any help would be great on the issue.
thanks andrew
DCC wiring question
I'm building a new layout. I will stay with DC initially, but want to be ready for DCC down the road. I am running a main bus for power, and dropping feeders from every section of flextrack and every switch. It is a large oval with one bus wire feeding half, and a second bus wire feeding the other half off the same power pack. I'm using two bus wires to limit the length of each one.
