Canadian Engines

For Canadian modelers and those wishing they were. wink

Prototype Model Industries is going to produce an MLW RS23 and a MLW S13. A CP RS23 in maroon and gray with block lettering, I'm drooling.

Reverse Running

Dear Joe

In reading Reverse Running is it possible that "I have Space but can't come up with a track plan" has to do with I don't have a theme, or time line?

Looking for O Scale Scratchbuilding materials for bridges...

I'm discovering modeling in O Scale is going to be more of a challenge than I first thought! (I am beginning to be very glad I am modeling in HO Scale for my own layout!) I am trying to plan ahead as we begin the redesign/reconfiguration of the layout in terms of what is available in terms of structures, especially bridges.

UNFORTUNATELY, Central Valley and Micro Engineering do not make bridges or bridge parts for O Scale! UGH.  We would like to have several different type of bridges.

The list of bridges we would like to build are:

Lettering removal

Being a new subscriber, please forgive me if this topic has been up before.  I am trying to remove "gold" lettering from a Walthers HO dynamometer car.  I have tried ELO and dropped 11-bucks on Joe's Model Trains decal and detail remover with no luck.  Does anyone know how to remove the lettering without maring the underlying paint.

JL&T Railroad Blog - Fire Station build...

Well tonight I started yet another build for the JL&T.  Although this was all done in the relative comfort of the house and not the layout shed.

A little while ago I purchased several Walthers Cornerstone - Modular Kits (they were on special) well an entire box load actually.

The latest version of my CL&W Sub Layout

OK, I'm back.  It's been a long 19 months since my most recent post, but I found that the less time I spend on forums/blog entries, the more work I can accomplish on my layout.  However, there were also a few serious events - such as being told that my job function was going to be eliminated - that made me wonder if I'd even be able to continue in mrr!  [Luckily I was able to learn other technologies, enabling me to stay with my current employer for another few years.]

Hokan Central

Here I present some pictures of my model, I hope you like it.

3 way turnouts & DCC

I am using Easy DCC from CVP and am looking for someone who can help me wire up a 3 way Fleischman turnout (has 2 motors) so that I can use 3 addresses (1 for each branch) and one of CVP's accessory decoders. Problem I am running into is moving from one of the branches to another some times requires on motor and some times it requires both.

Athearn Genesis SD70 Truck Problem

Has anyone had any issues with Athearn 3 axle trucks where one wheel on the front of the truck does not contact the railhead, acts like something is twisted. I have had the trucks apart several times and the wheels are in gauge and same size (measured with caliper). When the truck is put on the track one wheel on one side is just off the railhead.
