Looking for a little help!
Looking for a little help! I model N scale and have only a 4x8 layout! I purchased the micro train NYC weathered set and I also received the B&O weathered set as a gift. Does anyone know if the two railroads ever interchanged and if so could it be incorporated on such a small layout? Thanks!
For the first time is 12 years
For the first time is 12 years I moved one of my locos by electricity on the track. Granted it was only 6 feet of track, but it moved by itself.
Downside, I went to take a video and my camera batteries are dead.
But, it moved. By itself.
Advice on painting rock castings
Hi guys,
I have had a go at coloring my rock cliff face with the Woodland Scenics pigments. My base color is slate grey.
I think it came out ok but for the very evident "white" between the rock castings.
I did not use Hydrocal as it is just too expensive for me . I used the Plaster of Paris rather as an alternative.I joined the castings with the same, unaware that I was going to have this unrealistic appearance .
Handcarving Rocks and cuts out of plaster
I am an Eastern Appalachian modeler doing the 1955 era protofreelancing on my same Clinchfield layout. I like to hand carve all my rocks from plaster for tunnel portals and rock cuts along the right of way. I have not found that foam is economical for a large layout, 1320 sq ft. Maybe Im old school, but I like the results:
Harvest Season at Rock Ridge
This year's drought has not had much effect on the grain harvest around Rock Ridge. I finished up some scenery work around the elevators this weekend and thought I would share a few pictures.

Otter Creek Falls Rwy The three foot coal and lumber hauler
Not one to be left behind, the subsidiary of the New York, Vermont & Northern Rwy, the Otter Creek Falls Coal & Lumber Rwy is receiving some equipment from the Lilliputian Rail Equipment Broker. An 0-6-0 switcher, an 0-6-0 Plymouth diesel, Brill Trolley and the tender from the 0-6-0 engine. But, there's always a "but", the caboose right along with the side rods, coupler and some hand railing were confiscated by rail fans when the crew parked the train and went to lunch.

21st Century Steam comes to the NY, V & N Rwy.
