Athearn Diesels - Noisy!!! SOLVED
I have two of these particular Athearn diesels, bought in the mid 1980's and stored for some years. Yes, I know, the original metal used for electrical connections has rusted, a bit. However, that's not the issue. The issue is noise.
Broadway Limited Blueline Loco Question
I recently purchased a old but new in box Blueline loco. The sound works great, but I can't get it to move. With the DC plug in it hums like any other DC loco. I put in a Digitrax decoder to see if that made any difference. All to no avail. So does anyone with experience with a Blueline have any ideas???

Rock Mold
Recenting I was making a rock structure using a Woodland Scenics rock mold. I followed all instruction and was using Woodland Scenics Lightweight Hydrocal. When I went to release the mold, the mold split on me. This is the second time a mold has split on me (both molds were different). Woodland Scenics has been above par and has replaced them with no question. My question is; am I doing something wrong or is this just a case of getting a defective mold? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Very useful link ---- old Railroad industry magazines.
You guys might find this helpful. There are all kinds of prototype drawings and information in these magazines. I've found them very fascinating as they discuss, at the time of their publication, the latest industry news.

MicroEngineering DCC friendly turnouts power to points
I have bought some Micro Engineering "DCC friendly" turnouts.
"The metal frog can be powered", the closure rails get power "via built-in jumpers from their adjacent stock rails"
The instruction says: "Switch rails (points): Power is already supplied to the two Switch rails via the built in hinge rail joiners at the closure rail/switch rail junction"
