Tuckahova Tower. French mix. 1/48
Here is a small tower, some kind of a -free- blend between Tuckanoe and Nova tower.
This is my first full scratched wood building, and i hope not the last. Not intended to be fully realistic, but done just as a trial...US Railroad see through French eyes...
Built using only wood, pieces by pieces.
A couple of clips from the R&W all Alco fleet
Clips show an RS11 RS36 C420 lashup arriving into the R&W yard, we then see MLW 4503 depart with a C424/5 C420 RS36 convoy. Clip 1 is an all Lenz Silver convoy, clip 2 is all Zimo MX63/64R. All locos set to the same speed table but there's a difference in response between the 2 decoders. I'm happy with this as the layout in reality sees only 1 or 2 loco consists.

Happy (early) Father's Day to me!
When the Mrs. asked what I wanted for Father's Day I already had the answer - An Athearn Genesis GP38-2 with Tsunami sound! And I knew right where to get it at a great price - from TrainMasters Hobby in Buford, GA (my old stomping grounds). They have a wonderful store along with a nice website and ebay presence. The loco came in today and here's a picture of it on my layout in one of the started scenic areas: (PC users can click on the picture for a larger view).

Reinventing the Wheel: Locomotive Controller ...
Right ... between awaiting materials, tools, and sunshine (heh); I have too much time to "think" about my current project. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/18011
In the back of my mind, I have been very keen on implementing something like the RailDriver as a control system for my locomotive; similar to what Damin Keenan did with his. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/15624
Digitrax with Bachmann
I have a 4x6 ho scale layout and I have read a forum that had explained wiring up the digitrax controller to the E-Z track. I am pondering to buy the super-chief set, the club layout that I enjoy visiting uses this system. Can someone help me with this issue. I am using the Bachmann E-Z Command Control System and thinking of upgrading to something a little more advanced, since I might purchase some Broadway Limited Imports locos. I need a pretty detailed procedure on how to do this task. Thanks in advance.
Atlas O Tank Car Truck Surgery
A few days ago I got my first Atlas O-scale 2-rail corn syrup tank car. It is a very well detailed and good looking car, but when I put it on track, I was very disappointed. Somehow it did not look right! Comparing it to prototype pics it was obvious that the car was sitting way too high on its trucks. Though I am not a rivet counter, it looked so bad that I had to change it.
Single Stall Engine House Part 1- updated
So the sun finally popped out to do a bit of priming. I also did some preliminary assembly before priming. As I looked through the instructions I saw several smaller brace pieces that had to be attached to the sides and ends, so I figured rather than fiddle with painting the little bits individually I’d glue them in place and prime the side and end panels, as you’ll see why in the following pics.
