The Schnabel Car
Well I rarely spell the name of this car right so I will try not to but below are some images and videos of it being one of my favorites I wanted to show it to some people though I am sure mostt people have already heard of it.
Building a resistance soldering unit
I'm considering building a resistance soldering station. I've seen and have the plans to build one using a battery charger for power. However if I don't have to I'd rather not have to buy a charger for this. I have easy access to ballasts for metal halide light fixtures. Would one of these work or am I better off just getting a charger? The ballast I have sitting around is multi tap for 120V up to 480V and is made to power 400W metal halide bulb.

Joint Bars in O and S scale? other scales?
Our HO Scale Joint Bars have been very popular and I have gotten requests to
produce the bars in other scales.
We already offer an N scale set, and I'm working on a channel style version too.
In the mean time, I'd like to know what other scales people are interested in having joint bars for?
O Scale? S Scale? Other scales?
And more importantly, WHAT CODE of RAIL should these fit for each scale?
Bad car order forms
Hi Guys
I was curious if any of you guys have made bad car order forms at all? Id like to have something a little nice then just a piece of paper for rolling stock that I have to remove from the layout to be fixed at the workbench.
Thanks
Jeremy
Some real neat animation
To all Here are 2 neat little videos watch and enjoy. I came across these today.
Micro Engineering insulated rail joiners
Since I am new to hand laying track, looking for lots of advice and experience from all of you veterans. I purchased ME insulated rail joiners but don't have a clue how they should be installed between the rail section where electrical isolation is needed. Can anyone show a picture of a Micro Engineering insulated rail joiner installed in their rail work?

Tehachapi TTTO session
Two or three day TTTO sessions on the La Mesa Club's Tehachapi Pass layout occur 4-6 times a year. The video is from the latest session on the weekend of 11-12 April, 2015.
Info on participating can be found at: http://opsontehachapi.com/requestform.html

Operations,dispatch and communication
I'm getting to the point where it's time to start setting up for operations on my railroad. The layout should be OPS ready by the end of the year. Haven't decided on a program as of yet but I want to start setting up a dispatch panel and I'm contemplating what kind of communications system to use. I'm not a fan of the two-way radio (could be persuaded to change my thinking) and would prefer wired hand held communication.

Model Power is alive
Just got off the Model Rectifier site.

They now have a tab for Model Power. It looks like they will carry most of the items that Model Power had in the last few years. Including some of the Mantua classics.
