Opinions on mounting LED strip lights for layout lighting?
I plan to use LED strip lights to light a significant portion of my new layout. The layout is a mushroom design with 3 levels. I plan to light the lower and middle levels using the LED strip lights. Each strip is 5 meters (about 16 ft) long. I plan to use 2 parallel LED light strips mounted to the bottom of the benchwork of the level above. Lighting the lower/middle levels will require approximately 30 of these 16ft light strips (240 linear feet * 2 = 480 linear feet of strip lighting).
Lochdubh in 00
A few years ago I started building some modules for an 00 gauge railway,
But then I lost my interest in 00 for some time.
Today I did some work on my 00 Lochdubh modules.
During my last operating session, a Heljan Class 26 changed
ownership from my friend Matthias to me. These started a little boost to
work on Lochdubh. To get to the right width for FREMO 00 modules
I expanded the modules by 10 cm. And I also built a new modules,
on these the line continues and I will place a distillery on it.

Uncoupling inside a building
I model HO scale, Kadee couplers with the trip pin removed from the Kadee. A skewer is used for uncoupling.
As I'm progressing on the layout and thinking of buildings, how do I uncouple a car once the car is in the building? Do I need to position the coupler a specific way first? Then push the car in and pull back, leaving the car in place? Thanks.

Upping the Anti on my Childhood 027 Train Set
I have been dragging out a childhood Lionel set pulled by a 520 Box Cab to run when I'm feeling nostalgic, and want to trigger memories of that time of life. I now have the itch to up the anti, and pull a set of passenger cars with a GG1 loco. Now, of course, I know a GG1 wont make it through an 027 curve. But I have noticed that nowadays you can buy 042 and 054 tubular track. If I add either one of those to my current straight tubular track, shouldn't a GG1 make it through? I can't get an answer by Googling.

"Walking Tour" video of Brian Clogg's BCR Squamish Division layout
A second layout featured in the Vancouver Train expo Virtual Layout Tours was Brian Clogg's BCR Squamish Subdivision Layout. The video is a walking tour of 2/3rds of his extensive system wherein your humble narrator peppers Brian with questions about his layout's design, construction and operations and Brian does his best to diligently respond.
Brian and I hope you enjoy the tour!

Video of Steam Pusher Operations on the CPR's Coquihalla Subdivision
At this weekend's Vancouver Train Exposition, modelers were treated to a "Virtual Layout Tour" of four local layouts. Sitting in the grandstands of the Forum on the Pacific National Exhibition fair grounds, an estimated 40 to 50 attendees grabbed bags of popcorn, kicked back with their friends, and watched videos recently shot on these 4 layouts all projected in high resolution onto a large screen.

Rebuild has started
I have started the 5 year plan . During my 2 week vacation the first of October I was able to clear & sheet rock a 12 x 13 area next to the existing layout. I have been able in the last three weeks on and off to complete bench work & shelving on the north wall of this area. I will post progress every month or so.

Cleveland & Eastern RR - Dec 2015 update
I try to gather recent on going construction progress on my layout in this blog here.
While I was busy with other tasks on the railroad, I managed to get my focus on finishing the first section of the Cleveland & Eastern RR - Elizabeth Oaks.
There are several project waiting to be done. Among these I want to discard the "out-of-the-box" East-Grain Mill and replace the two Cornerstone buildings with one scratch built mill complex.
