SoundCAR Programming Help

I need some help with a programing issue with my SoundTrax SoundCar.

I have my sound car mounted under the layout as a stationary sound decoder.  It is wired into, two Rail Master speakers in series spaced on either side of my layout.  I have a bedroom sized around the walls layout.

Everything works when I Intelligent consist it to the locomotive, I am using at the particular time, except for the breaking sound feature of the sound car.

(All locomotives have SoundTraxx Tsunamis)

Part #5, Railroad Signs & Signals

Railroad Signs & Signals

To All: Railroads post speed limit signs for regulating trains. I captured this sign in Montreal,Canada. It reads top to bottom--LRC (Light Rail self propelled passenger cars), 95 MPH, Regular Passenger Trains, 90 MPH and 60 MPH, Freight Trains. My question is this, are these speeds in KPH or MPH? Ideas in 4x8

I've been at this model railroading thing since I was 10 and I am nearly 50. In some ways I am still very much a newbie. I have been in and out of the hobby several times and I am trying to find my niche. I do like building structures and models in general. I don't find myself attracted to ultra detailed models. I admire those that do but I am very satisfied with a "good enough" approach to models. I do very much enjoy electronics (my previous vocation) and DCC is a ton of fun for me.

Copper Basin Railway

Help.  I am looking to start a layout based on the Copper basin railway.  I would like to do some custom locomotives and cars.  I am looking for decals and I have been unsuccessful, anyone have any ideas?  Also would anyone know where I might come up with drawings of the ore cars.  I have had no luck there either.  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.  Thanks BK.

Late January Progress

After a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday season, life has returned to normal (aka less train time). Despite this change in schedules some progress has been made on the Eugene Staging.

Baldwin S-12 1458 Southern Pacific

Hi All,

my colleague asked me for a SP locomotive in "tiger strips". So my answer was quick and cheap - an Athearn Blue Box Baldwin S-12. (By the way that loco has too wide hood)

Some brass parts, puty, paint and decals and:

Part #2, Railroad Maintenance of Way

Railroad Maintenance of Way

To All: Sperry Rail Service is hired by railroads to test the rail for micro cracks, broken rail and other problems. This service is used to prevent derailments and other concerns for the railroad. Use of a self-propelled Sperry Rail car on your Pike adds interest to your operations. Models of this car have been produced in model form. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E.
