DCC issues with two locomotives with Digitrax Decoders

I was cleaning the wheels on two locomotives (N scale).  One was the Atlas GP-38-2 and the other was the Kato F-7A.

conundrum

Hi all I have a problem with an atlas code83 turnout. The engine stutters and if going very slow will  stop on turnout. I have cleaned the points and pivots. checked wiring. if i push down slightly on loco it will start again. this by the way happens with all three of my engines. Im stumped. I should add that this is just straight dc.thanks Dick

Superelevated Curves, Wheel Drag

On my HO switching layout I have 24-Inch radius "super elevated" curves using plastic shims underneath the ties.  All curves have proper easements.

The super elevation height change is very gradual, (at least slightly longer than my longest 60-foot car), and set at the following levels throughout the turn:

.010 - before the start of the curve and into the begging of the curve

.020 - next level up

.030 - maximum elevation

The super elevation of the curve than decreases from .030 to .020 to .010

Truck & coupler tool idea

I have another weird idea.  If anybody likes it, I'd love to hear how it works.  I might even try it myself one of these days.

The way I see it, there has to be a definite relationship between the height of a body bolster and a coupler mounting pad.  If we imagine that there is one standard bolster height, and one standard coupler pad height (for a given scale/gauge, of course), then you could make a go/no-go gauge which touches both and would show whether one or the other was off.

Two problems with that assumption:

Take a Ride on the Valley Local

Hi guys,  I've been lurking here for a while and just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Chris and I'm modeling the New Haven Railroad's Connecticut River Valley Line as it was in October, 1947.  I'll be modeling the "Air Line" as well, since it crossed the Valley line at grade in Middletown, CT.

CLEANING THE TRACK

I AM FROM INDIA. AND IN HERE IT IS VERY HARD TO GET A ACTUAL HOBBY SHOP. I DO HAVE A LAYOUT IN MY ROOM...BUT SINCE THE MOISTURE IS PRETTY HIGH THE TRACKS ARE COVED WITH SOME KIND OF OXIDES...NOW I AM FACING PROBLEM IN RUNNING THE TRAINS. THEY ARE NOT GETTING POWER FROM THE TRACKS. I HAVE SEARCHED SOME LOCAL WEBSITES... NONE OF THEM CAN PROVIDE ME WITH THE CLEANING SOLUTION OR CLEANING EQUIPTMENTS.. ANY IDEA WHAT I CAN USE TO CLEAN THE TRACKS?

What space to use for a new layout in a new house.

I am at the point to design a new layout in On30.  I'm considering two spaces in the new house.

DCC throttle keeps going back to zero

I have a DT400 Digitrax throttle and lately I have noticed an aggravating issue. I will be running a train, and the throttle will just reset itself back to zero speed, without me touching it. I will move the throttle knob back up to the speed i want and within a short period of time it will once again set itself back to zero. The throttle is plugged into Loconet. Its not on battery and has no battery installed. When I use any other throttle like a UT4 it works just fine. Anyone run into this problem?
