Scenery - Structures
Backdrop Junction
Hi Everyone,
Been a long time since we posted anything in here. Just wanted to provide an update for our product line. We have just added about ten new backdrops in the last few days. That brings us to over 230 scenes to choose from. We have scenes from all over the United States, some from Canada, and a bunch from Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland.
HO scale barbed wire
[reposted for emodeler]

I'm looking for some HO barbed wire.If it is available as fencing the height of the posts should be 5ft. or 6ft. if in the ground one foot. 4-5 strands would be good.
Source of Cascade Mountain Photos
I'm starting scenery on my N-scale Cascade Southern RR. I'm looking for a source of photos of the Cascade Mountains in Oregon on which I can base both my 3D landforms and my backdrop scenes. I have done a preliminary Google search under Cascade Mountains. Most of the photos I've found are those of the very tall snow-covered peaks in the Cascades.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could suggest a good source of photos of the more typical less dramatic mountain ridges found in the Cascades.

Very Cool Commercial
I don't know what I like more about this commercial; the fact that it was done all in-camera, one take with no CGI effects or all the cool model making. Nice to see the craft aspect of the hobby portrayed so well (the idiot hipster in the Che t-shirt at the end notwithstanding).

Automobile Traffic Lights Animation with the Arduino Pro Mini
I read with great interest the excellent beginner’s Arduino tutorial by Dr. Geoff Bunza. See: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/17244 I decided to experiment.
First, I found 10 Arduino Pro Minis (5 volt) in China for $20.10 delivered to my door. For $2.01 each, I’ll let a few take one for the team while I learn.
Great Lakes ship Champlain
This is a model of the Cleveland Cliffs bulk carrier ship. It was mainly used for the hauling of raw iron ore from the loading docks in Lake Superior, to the ports in Ohio to be transported by rail to the various steel mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio. It is only about 2/3 done. The basic kit is from Bearco Marine. And the great looking decals were made by Bill Brillinger. See his website at pda.ca Please note the 3D letter c on the stack also made by Bill. Much Kiba shingles done, with more to go! Will post more pics when done.
