Brick Paint Color

I am looking for info on the color that could be used for the cheaper brick that might be used on the sides and back of a brick building.

CPR's Nelson BC Station

This model is now complete and joins the crowded ranks of Nelson station models.

6 months of hobby time - well, life took a month out of that - but its done.  I learned a ton!!  Should you have questions, please fire back.  (I am contemplating a clinic on its build for next May's Railway Modeller's of BC Meet in Vancouver and will definitely put one on if there is demand)

The Bridge to Nowhere

The only part of my Flin Flon layout I kept was the big bridge scene. I had built it to be moved and I am happy to say it survived the 1400km journey.

Bridge 1

This weekend I built a stand for it and got it out of its shipping crate I made. I was very pleased to see it was all intact. I had taken off a lot of small details before the move so once I figure out which box I put them in I can add them back to the scene.

Making better stencile

I have been struggling with getting clean lettering when I use stencils on crossbucks on my roads.  I found a hint on line that really works.  When you affix the stencil on the road (i use vinyl cut by a cricut) put a coating of Mod Podge Matte over it and the lines will be sharp and clear.

Adding to Operations - Working Blue Flags

While digging through my toolbox recently, I came across some blue flags that I had made back in the early 90's.  Much like the the prototype, I made the original version to serve the very real need of not wanting my train to be "accidentally" run off the end of a staging yard!

This post will detail the history, construction, and use of these flags.
