Turning a dead head train
I would like to know how the B&O RR turned its passenger trains in Jersey City, NJ and serviced the cars. Thanks, Pete W
Quicker way to scroll blogs and topics
After a 20 year hiatus starting a new HO layout. MRH is the best of its kind and glad I discovered it. Attempting to go through the archive of blogs and topics. Is there a way to pick up where I left off instead of going back to page 1 again? I'm 70 y.o. and not too saavy. Thanks for any help

To What Lengths
The question is " To what lengths have, or would you go to so as to have THAT model on your layout " ?
I am pretty sure many of us have spotted a item either railfanning or in some photo someplace that piques the interest of the model railroader to the point it transitions from " thats nice " to " I gotta have ". When this bug hits, and you have secured as much research as you think is possible or needed, do you hope that some company will fullfill your model wish or do you go the " full monty " for a scratchbuilt model ?
Scenery Question
I find when securing real dirt with a 50/50 mix of matte medium and water the dirt shows to be darker when it dries. Is there anyway you have found to prevent the color change? Hair spray will work but is not strong enough for the initial application of dirt but works fine for adding foliage on top of it. Paint will also work but seems to only hold a very thin layer of the dirt. Is the only answer to start with a lighter color of dirt to begin with?
Any other suggestions are more than welcome.
Modern Plywood and Millwork Rail Shipping
Does anyone know why plywood and millwork companies used RBLs (reefers) to ship their products? Does it have to do with temperature and/or moisture control?

Been away a little while
My last post was sometime back in July I believe. We kind of had a rough summer what with everything going on in the world and my wife had to have some unexpected but major neck surgery so that's been a struggle for her and put an extra onus on me as far as running the family, taking care of her and such. We've been fortunate to have my 31 year old autistic son here living with us though because he's helped me a lot with taking care of his mom. You can find blessings in the strangest circumstances sometimes.

GM&O Manifest Sheets
Where can I locate manifest sheets for GM&O local trains out of Jackson TN ln the late 1950s early 1960s ?
Thanks
Seattle's Alaskan Way Viaduct
Half my layout is based on Seattle, just felt like the Viaduct was necessary. 3D bridge sections (from thingiverse) and wood supports.
