Edit Blog Post Without Showing Up on Recent Posts?
Probably an odd question but I am wondering if there is a way to edit past blog posts without them showing up again in the "Recent Posts" list?
I have been posting a series of blog entries tracking progress of a layout build. For convenience of folks following along and new readers who start in the middle, I wanted to add Previous and Next links the articles. However I would prefer not to spam the Recent Posts list with all the past posts as I add the links to them.
Is this possible?
Cinder Ballast
As old as I am, I am not old enough to have seen cinder ballast in the steam era.
I am of the opinion cinder ballast is not all black as some commercial purveyors of same suggest in their offerings.
So, in addition to the usual vegetation and droppings from various forms of lading, what other colors should be
present in cinder ballast during the steam era?
Thanks in advance.

Hazmat Rules
In one of the other magazines this month there is a picture of a Explosives placard from the NYS&W RR. The placard dates from the 1943-1953 era since it shows Henry K. Norton as the trustee.
Very different rules than the modern ones, but interestingly, many of the concerns addressed are still in the modern rules. The requirement to keep the car "... near the middle of the train..." stayed in the placement rules up until about 1980.
Proto Throttle and N scale diesels
I am very keen on the idea of purchasing a Proto Throttle, having seen various demonstration videos on the internet. Howver, all of the videos have been using HO locomotives. Maybe a silly question, but do N scale ESU sound decoders allow use of the braking function in the same way as HO size decoders? In other worde would I achieve the same benefits of the Proto Throttle in N scale?
Thanks for your help.

Model railroad displays on display at...(worldwide)
Hi all,
A large number of modellers have probably heard of Hamburg's "Miniatur Wonderland", "The Franklin and South Manchester", or The San Diego MRC's displays at Balboa Park in San Diego, where model railroads are on display to the public. Some of these public facing layouts have almost achieved a legendary status as a "must see if in town". These are perhaps some of the better known ones.
One of those Daze..LOL..or "You just gotta laugh at yourself sometimes..."
It's been one of those days where you get your package in and look forward to making some progress on your project(s). First up is attaching feeder wires to frogs. The PECO electrofrogs are super easy...the Micro Engineering frogs are spawns of satan..lol..
I manage to get about 50% ( 8 turnouts ) of the feeder wires attached and decide to take a step back.
Give me your opinion of work in progress
This the work of a old man, trying to stay in the hobby. Positive comments are appreciated .Will post more if there is interest
Adhesive to bond styrene sheet to Masonite for backdrop
I wonder if anyone can suggest an adhesive that would work to bond large sheets of .030 styrene to a Masonite backing without melting the styrene. I'm experimenting with using styrene sheet as a finished surface for the backdrop for a shelf layout, a seemingly ideal material as it will easily cove at the corners as well as into the overhead lighting deck to get a seamless transition. Some form of contact cement would be ideal but I'm afraid most types would melt and distort the styrene. Thoughts anyone?
