Advice needed on spraying Scalecoat II - I'm getting a slight grain effect vs a mirror finish

I have a brass Whitcomb 44 tonner that I want to finish in the as delivered Rock Island scheme of red and black.  I bought fresh bottles of Scalecoat II caboose red and black with Scalecoat II thinner this weekend and sprayed the red last night.  Rather than getting a mirror finish for decalling I'm seeing a slight grainy effect in the finish.  Used 30 PSI and thinned the paint around 20% paint and 80% thinner.  Any suggestions - more paint and less thinner, reduce the PSI?

Pacemaker brass caboose

I recently picked up a NJ Custom brass caboose for under $100.00. Great find. The paint jub was just finished. Need to paint the new wheels and do some weathering.

The option to post photos is much to complex so I just used the URL's.

Using IMG links is the only way I know of but they are not allowed here.

First Look: Rapido HO scale Angus Wide Vision Caboose

OK, so I've continued my collecting of things that don't relate to my current layout construction.  I couldn't resist as I'm quite certain I'll make the move to HO at some point in the future and I know I'd regret not picking these up if I had the chance.  I managed to get the last three I could find at MRH sponsor, CMT.  They were very quick to respond to my inquiry as to whether they had any of these left and then promptly took my order.  Shipping was quick once they arrived and I got them well packed, plus they give us 1st timers a 10% discount!

Walthers HO diner interior kit components -- anyone have a parts list or instructions?

I just bought an old kit, #U743 (later number probably 933-743) that has a lot of metal chairs and pieces of wood but precious few other metal parts. The other metal parts include a pair of three-hatch hinged covers, a hopper (toilet), a bathroom sink and a flat piece approx. 3/16" x 1/2" with some raised rectangular shapes that defies description.

SP FMC double door box cars

I've casually looked at photo's of the FMC double door box cars.  Some have the Youngstown doors and some with Superior doors.  Ok, I forget which is which, but it seems the box cars came with one kind and then later seemed the other kind, with the wider panels became more common.  Did one replace the other and if so why?
