INTERMOUNTAIN FP7A/F7B DCC ISSUES

LOCO: 2 x FP7A plus 2 x F7B INTERMOUNTAIN , Decoder NCE

Has anyone come across this issue: Locos will run fine in a consist then one or more will not run at all. If all locos given same address then same situation occurs. I have tried resetting the decoder cv30, cures problem for a short time only. Reseating the decoder can unlock the loco, as can reseating the light plug. Tried different decoder as well as different circuit board. On program track the locos always read ok.

Removing factory lettering from Intermountain cars

Hi folks,

I need to replace the color UP logos on several PFE reefers with the black & white logo in order to update them to late 1953.  I also need to re-number and change other lettering as well.

Removing factory applied paint?

I have a few older cars that I like, but they need a completely different color scheme.  Could someone please refer me to a link that covers removing factory paint?

Thanks!

Concor Husky Stack - Is there something wrong with it?

Folks, I think it is proper to call the all-purpose well car sold by Concor a Husky Stack, but what is wrong with it?

I set it on my track and next to an Athearn Husky Stack, the Concor model looks like a piece of tinplate in HO scale. Seriously... the well must sit a scale 3 feet higher than the Athearn car. It looks funny and out of place since it sits so much higher. A web search for kitbashing the Concor car yields no information, so I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how to fix it or if it needs to be fixed?
