What Is This Thing?

I took this picture a few years ago. Just downloaded the SD card. It was at the St Louis Museum of Transportation. I have tried to find it on line with no luck. Help please.

Looks like a bathtub with head lights!

Tea Bag canvas

I've seen references on a few occasions to tea bags being used as canvas, and thought I'd show how it looks; I've not seen it done.

The internet is your friend

So many times people tout E-bay as the only answer to searching for a particular piece of rolling stock.  Well, many time it is, but another source is a google (or other search engine) search.

For example, a person posted a 6 car set of hoppers that might be what I wanted.  But the photo was poor, and the seller would not give me the car numbers (the reason for my wanting that set of 6) and would not use other than paypal for payment.  Also wanted >$100 for the set.

Red Mountain Ry. engine #2

I've tried my hand at weathering a locomotive for the first time, and this is the result. I'm quite pleased with it, but I know the next one will be better.

The loco is a Blackstone C-19 which I've lettered for my fictional Red Mountain Ry. and the picture is taken on a small diorama I have made.

Have one of these on my wish list. Is conversion to MT coupler easily done?

Stewart/Kato F3B to F3A + DCC?

Hi, is it possible putting a Stewart/Kato F3A body onto a F3B chassies?
Don't have parts that I can check.
Is it difficult adding DCC and sound?
Any drop in solution?

Broadway Limited Imports

I have just started running my ATSF 4-8-4 northern steam loco on my small 4x6 home layout. My EZ Command controller (DCC) can only use 10 functions. How can I change the numbering of different functions. I go to a club layout that uses Digitrax.

Load revised, and positioned (hopefully adequately) for shipping. How is this?

The B&M is getting ready to ship this boiler to the boatyard in Maine, and I was wondering how this looks for timbering around it.  It's roughly inspired by the American Model Builders shipping crate for the life-like generators.  http://www.laserkit.com/laserkit.htm

Now I've got a pallet that can be nailed to the flatcar's bed, and can add anchor points from the stake pockets to the wood frame.

why are there no ten-wheelers?

I've searched online for a decent 4-6-0, and it seems like the only ones around in HO are fancy brass models.  It seems strange that no one has put out a reasonable, middle of the road ten wheeler; they weren't sztrange or unusual locomotives.
