Locos and rolling stock

Cab, weight/frame for a potential TP56 kitbash project.

I have been out of model railroading for a long time [ten years], but playing with SCARM and some track plan books has kind of given me the itch again, that and visiting the local rr club's open house night.

And I find that the TP56 exists and it really tickles my love for esoteric motive power. That and it seems a literal halfway point between a road switcher and a shunter/shifter, supposedly weighing 80-100 tons.

SOO LINE hopper-rustbucket

SOO LINE white attracts rust like a magnet. I went through over a hundred photos and found very few that weren't covered. I had a IM kit that I assembled and decaled years ago.

Goofy Con Cor gondola load

I opened up a Con Cor 9034 "mill gondola with load". Inside the box was the expected gondola and a random assortment of parts including non functioning coupler, bell, and diesel loco truck side frames. Anything one puts in a gondola is technically a load but what's the deal with the oddball parts?  Not what I would expect for a gondola load

Freight Car Red

Are there any craft paints such as come from Michaels or Hobby Lobby that come close to the color box car red?

I have an old project that I would like to finish.

Thanks, Jack

C&O H7 loco, HO scale, in modern plastic

Have there ever been any manufacturers that have considered making the 'massive' C&O H7 in plastic rather than  just brass?...HO scale

I had a fellow who at one time was going to kit-bash one of my Proto 2-8-8-2 into an H7 lookalike, But it fell thru. And I wanted mine to utilize a vandy tender

Just found this Youtube video of an O scale one,....what a sound !, What a brute !

Modern Freight Car Roof Weathering

I am looking at changing eras into a more modern era, 1980-1990.   I can not find good photographs of roof weathering on freight cars.  I have a Athearn RBOX with a build date of 1980 and a bright silver roof I want to weather.  How would you weather the roof after about five years of running?  After five years would it be totally rusted with halo effect?

Aristo-Craft?

So, a few days ago I was on ebay, looking for a (HO) steam locomotive. During my search, I found this:

First time posting some of my models

I have never posted any photos of my models before so I figured I would finally do so.

Canton (Maryland) Decals

Does anyone know of anyone making Canton (Maryland) decals ?

British American Petroleum Tank Cars 1947 and 1968.

Started work on converting a brass Kawaguchi CNJ 4-6-4T to CNR 4-6-4T #49, I saw at Exporail, St. Constance Montreal. It looked like reasonable conversion, soon realized they really had a lot of differences. Picked one up for under 230$ Can. Changed motor, repaired mechanics and running no sweat. Just like plastic. Quickly learned that working with brass is not wood or plastic.
