Locos and rolling stock

Walthers Mainline SD60

I have 2 Walthers Proto SD60's, love them, then for Christmas, I received 2 Mainline SD60's, they look great minus a few details, but the body of the locomotive is very wobbly compared to the  trucks. When it starts to move, it rocks back and forth, LOTS. Is there a way to tighten up the trucks?

Wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if there's a way to fix it?

Sound & Sugar-Cube Speakers

Sound and Sugar-cube Speakers

This was just recently posted on a Soundtraxx discussion I had started about the incompatibilities that could arise when running MTH locos with other DCC equipped locos. I found this 'sounds portion' very interesting,...

Coupler lever bars?

hey guys I’m looking for some coupler lever bars to put on my modern rolling stock.  The only ones I’ve been able to find are made by Plano. I was wondering if there are any other bars out there and if I do order from Plano which ones should I get?  They have a few different models. I want to put them on my boxcars and corn syrup cars.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bachmann 4-8-4 Wheelslip

Hi all,

I have a Bachmann 4-8-4 Northern in the Santa Fe scheme. It is new production with the updated drive and can motor. It was purchased in 2011 and ever since I bought it it has had problems with the wheels slipping. It does this even when unloaded.  I tried adding a traction tire with bullfrog snot, But it didn’t do anything to ease the problems. This thing can barely pull itself, much less a train of any kind. What could possibly cause this and what can I do to fix it?

Custom decals for Jupiter and No. 119?

Do you recall an article or blog about having custom decals created for both locomotives for the PFM Promentory Point Centennial locomotive set?

It was in the past year or two. The author had absolutely magnificent decals created and offered the artwork for others to have printed.

I have searched and did not find it again.  It could have been here on MRH, or on Model Railroader or other site.  I know Pacific Fast Mail had also issued a painted set, it had inaccurate colors and not at all like the well-researched units in Utah.

Decals that look like Rope

Anyone know of any decals that look like lengths of rope?

I am adding tarpaulins on some open rail wagons, any I have seen done with the rope included look too coarse.  I was hoping to do better.
