SD60M sand filler hatches
Can anyone tell me who makes a detail part and where I can find the square sand filler hatches found on most wide cab SD60s?
Look on the top of the nose. The little square hatches is what I am looking for
Those old McKean, now Concor, Greenville coal hoppers
Those McKean hoppers
Tue, 2019-07-30 12:55 — blindog10Are actually decent models of Greenville 12-panel and 15-panel hoppers built in the '60s and '70s. They represent the few welded prototypes. Problem is most of the Greenvilles were riveted.
Whitcomb 65-DE-14 in HO-scale
While browsing in German forums I found a newly released HO-scale model of the Whitcomb 65-DE-14 as used by allied forces in Italy in WWII. About 60 were later bought by FS the Italian railway company.
The model is by ACME. an Italian company: http://www.acmetreni.it/index.php/en/
The link leads to a model photo. And here is a prototype photo: http://www.robertsarmory.com/whitcomb-12.jpg
I learned that the lights of the model don't work.

Model Die Casting Roundhouse 50 foot tank car - end upgrade?
We have all seen one of these, right? This is the 50' tank produced probably 30 years ago or more by Model Die Casting Roundhouse. Not a bad model at all for its day. It was a fairly easy to assemble "shake the box" kit that looked pretty good after being assembled. Over time, it came with a fairly critical internet audience indicating that it followed no specific prototype and had more than one shortcoming. Surprisingly, there just isn't much information on how to kitbash this thing or to add more appropriate details.
Power Trucks for Blue Box Athearn Frames
I have a couple of these old Athearn Blue Box frames (40017 and similar) and I am looking to put some trucks on them. Will any of the modern Athearn power trucks fit on these frames, and which ones? Are there any non-Athearn trucks from another manufacturer that will fit on these frames?
Aerial views of MOW cars - great for weathering
A few of my fellow IAIS fans know of my fondness for modeling the railroad's MOW fleet. In fact, one of my planned near-term projects will involve patching and weathering IAIS ballast hopper 9719 and MOW flats 9001, 9003, 9010, and 9011. In order to help me, Erik Rasmussen took his drone up above a string of IAIS MOW cars tied down in Rock Island, IL, as well as one in Newton, IA a couple years ago, and got a bunch of really helpful aerial photos. Shortly afterward, Barry Anderson spotted a couple of IAIS's very cool ex-RI 53' GSC/GSI flats, sisters to the IAIS
1860-80 era ho scale wheel size
Hi
I'm trying to replace a missing wheel on a Bachmann 1860-80 era ho scale combine car. I would like to know what wheel size was used on the car.
I don't have a caliber and no plans to purchase one. I have looked at the Bachman site and there is nothing about the wheel size in the description. online search hasn't been successful in finding what I'm looking for.
Providence & Worchester
I am wondering if anyone has any info on Providence & Worchester B-units. Want to model one. Looked on RRpictures and cannot find any pics. Any help would be appreciated.

KC&G Equipment
Howdy all!
Thought I'd use this thread as a show n' tell (and for questions I might have/etc) for any equipment I'm working on for my Kansas City & Gulf free/proto lance theme.
Come on and follow along!

how do you paint a flat car body
Folks, anyone have a suggestion as to how to best paint this Tichy flat car without messing up the deck that I have painted/weathered. I looking for a jig or some ingenious way to hold the car while painting.
Thanks, David Stickney, Red bluff, CA
