Broadway Ltd AC6000 shell swaps

Broadway Ltd AC6000 shell swaps

I have a number of Broadway AC6000 locos that I am considering swapping shells around on. Has anyone done this, and/or have recommendations? BTW these are all brand new engines I have never run.

Locomotive Developed a Limp?

I've just finished building an On30 saddle-tank engine using the mechanism from the Mantua HO scale logging 2-6-6-2T.  It's one of the more recent versions of this mechanism, with driveshafts between the gear towers and motor, instead of rubber tubing.

Detail parts for plug-doors (RBL's HO scale)

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at my options with respect to available plug-doors for insulated boxcars or at least hardware for said doors. In particular i am looking for 8', 9' and 10' YT and Superior doors to give you an idea (2 and 4 rods respectively), for some RBL kit-bash projects that i am working on.

Traction of our Steam Locomotives (Tenshodo's three point equalization)

I was just reading about this impressive auction that will be occurring with a big brass collection. Within the documentation there was this presentation. I'll provide the link, but I also thought it would be worthwhile posting this portion as it may disappear after the auction finishes,....

Change the Livery on Broadway HO loco

I have a Broadway Lt  E7 loco with a great 'plated' stainless steel finish. It looks very nice. BUT, it is a CB&Q livery, "Burlington". Can I possible change it to be a Santa Fe loco?

Correcting/improving Bachmann On30 locomotives for the ET&WNC

I created sets of scale builder plates, each with the right serial numbers and dates for ET&WNC ten-wheelers 9, 11, 12, and 14. I also used photos of the real number plates to make scale versions of them.

Bachmann did a great job on most of the engines but they always do their plates are opposite images of what they should be (black lettering on bronze which of course is opposite of how they looked in real life).

Atlas Train Master, H15-44, Fairbanks-Morse

I was roaming around my storage trailer today and found this little Atlas loco. The label on the box is messed up but I can read Atlas #4522. I tried finding more info on it, but this particular road name doesn't seem to come up for me?

It also appears that most of these locos had rectangular cab windows. This one has oval shaped windows.

Question for Santa Fe and freight car experts

I'm building an ex-Santa Fe PS-2 converted to a ballast hopper ( https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/37796 ), but have run into a couple challenges where my knowledge is lacking.  Here are two pics of the prototype (first one courtesy of Erik Rasmussen):
