Picture annotations and arrows @Dr. Geoff
Hi Dr. Geoff,
I was wondering what program you use for arrows and annotations on your pictures.
Thanks,
Nick
What is the architectural feature called?
Hi,
Could somebody identify what you'd call this notched pattern? Does anybody make styrene strips with this already in? I'm not sure what I should be Googling to find it.

3D printers and Craft cutters
I now own a 3d printer and a craft cutter. Ive been looking around the web and found a few sites that had stuff for model railroading, and maybe I just haven't found it yet, but what would be nice is a place where we all could share info, tips, tricks and files. Ive printed a few other folks files and made a few myself. I think MRH is the place to post that kind of stuff, but Im not too sure about how or where on the site to do that?
Looking for Sources for Animation Projects
I'm in the final design stage of version 4.0 of the Fungus and Mungus Railroad. It's set in 1916 in the Colorado mountains.
I'm looking to animate a logging site, a lumber mill, the switch yard, etc.
Can anyone recommend a projects book or website of any type with some animation suggestions or projects?
I purchased the one that Kalmbach publishes, but the articles are as old as 1996. It didn't mention LEDs or microcontrollers.

Need Advice With Weathering A Structure
I am trying to apply some weathering to an O scale model of a modern industrial building. Normally, I would apply a wash of diluted enamels, let is dry a bit, and then use mineral spirits to stump it off: leaving the weathering color in all of the nooks and crannies. Unfortunately every time I try to stump the wash, all of paint comes off leaving me with patches of bare styrene.
The model is styrene over a foamboard core; it is painted with Testors Model Master enamels.
Use of Grout, sanded and unsanded for ground cover and ballast
I've seen some great photos here at MRH where the modeler used grout for ballast and for ground cover like gravel roads and parking lots. Does anyone have some tips on how to use it? Glue it down like any ground cover or wet it with an eyedropper and let the cement in it work? Has anyone had any luck with blending different colors?
Thanks

Walthers double track through truss differences... Original versus modernized
I am working remotely and actually just sold my "too small for double stacks" or "steam era" double track through truss bridge for cheap. This is because I got the new "modernized" version. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I guess I thought it would be more on par with their single track offering. Much to my surprise, this new bridge looks just like the old one, albeit with smaller structural members on the top.

Photo Backdrop Installation on Sectional Layout
I'll be installing the photo backdrops on my sectional layout soon and was wondering what the best way to install them is in order to minimize the appearance of a line at the joints. I intend to elicit the help of my wife to do the 'clamp and roll while spraying the back with 3M adhesive spray' method of installation (after test fitting).
The photo backdrop print lengths will make them overlap the joints.
Should I:
a. Install complete prints and then cut with a knife along the joint; or
b. Cut and then install?
Reading RR extension Buckingham depot HO
Scratchbuilt for freelanced RDG extension, Bucks Co., PA route that now runs as the New Hope & Ivyland. True Buckingham depot was much simpler affair, befitting a farm country hamlet.
Design draws from Cedar Hollow in Kalmbach's classic Railroad Station Plans, a great reference.
