Scenery and structures

Regardless of scale is it not all about the scene and the story it tells?

Static grass and Bushes
I stumbled across this Site from France, shows some great looking grasses and bushes all made using static grass. He uses some sort of resin material for the base that he claims helps to carry the static charge throughout. Would probably ship here, but it is a bit expensive. I like how he creates branching effects with the static grass.

3D printed Colorado Stamp mill in HO
Hi all! It's been a while.. but here's my latest build:
A Stamp mill in HO scale for my HOn3 layout.
I've made it from plans in the "Old wood and stone buildings" book.
I CAD converted the drawn plans and as I have a 3D printer, I printed the timber frame, windows, doors, smoke stack and loading platform.
I then covered the frame with Northeastern wood and the roof with cardboard covered with surgical tape.
The stays for the smokestack are made of piano wire.

Need advice on attaching a backdrop
I’d like input if anyone has glued or wallpapered up a backdrop. I was planning to paint my backdrop, but I’ve recently been working on a book design with a very talented local illustrator who has graciously offered to create my backdrop.
Modeling inset windows in brick structures
I am modeling a brick terminal in which the windows are inset in the brick openings. I have been planning to use foam board (covered with brick paper). The depth of the foam board will give me a surface to inset the windows. However, I find it hard to cut small openings in foam board cleanly, even with special foam cutting tools. Any other options for materials with some depth which I can cut cleanly and inset the windows?
Excellent Video on Creating Grand Canyon-type Buttes and Mesas
Here's a very detailed video on how to use a hot wire to carve foam into buttes and mesas. Normally, this gentleman uses foam and cement to create habitats for lizards and reptiles (hence the title of his YouTube channel "Lizard Landscapes") but he decided to just create a model canyon for the heck of it. Although his use of color is not to my taste, I think he really nails the forms. There's quite a bit of useful information if you are trying to create southwestern scenery.

Bulk container identity
These turn up from time to time in junk boxes and so forth. Can anyone identify the maker and the idea behind the model. My guess is it is Athearn and it was designed to fit in a gondola, but that is just my guess.
Anyone know the proposed commodity it carried? Who has taken these and done something cool with them? I wondered if I could add some ends to it and make it a believable intermodal container?
Slate Roofs
There are several buildings in the location I am modeling that had slate roofs. What is a good material to model them in HO? Thanks,

Anyone ever made a "Post Rock" fence?
I want to create an HO scale "post rock" barbed wire fence. Has anyone attempted such a thing in any scale?
In the late 1800's limestone fence posts were used in Central Kansas because there was almost no wood available. Some of these fences exist today. I see the post rocks as an iconic feature of the region.
You can Google "Post Rock Kansas" and find pictures and information on this kind of fencing.
