sign aging
Hi everyone. I have made some advertising decals on clear inkjet decal paper to apply to buildings for a 1800's diorama. I aged the wood using the "ink wash" but trying to work out how to 'age' the decals as well without damaging them. Any ideas? Thanks

Elemer's Foam Board with Cork as a scenic base material
I'm considering using Elemer's Foam Board with Cork as a scenic base material for my T-Trak-S corner modules. Foam board to be layered on top of 1/4 inch birch plywood top.
This is your usual foam board with one side foam and the other side very thin cork.
Elmer's Item 950180 (if interested on Amazon) comes in a 10 pack. Individual boards are 20 x 30 x 3/8 inch(s). Locally they are $5.99 each compared to $4.974, pack of 10 with free shipping.
I like the 3/8 thickness.
What material might hang slack like real cable?
The threads I have used to mimic cables on my ash dump and coaling tower do not hang straight up/down, and look goofy, bowed out and twisted. No way to put enough weight at the end without distorting the look. Does anyone have a different material that might work, or have I missed something in several trips to Hobby Lobby?

Buildings for Washington State
I am about to start building a freelanced switching layout in N scale based in the Tacoma and Olympic Peninsula area of Washington state. I live way too far away to travel and go get prototype pictures myself. Does someone have a website or reference where I can get some pictures of modern industrial buildings built from the mid 80's to today that would be correct for the region. Any help would be appreciated.

Colorado Fuel and Iron Limestone Loader
Greetings Everyone,
Major Lurker here :) I thought that I would try out the new year on actually contributing something to the boards instead of just lurking. So here is my contributions to the boards.
Brick Sheet Sources
Edit 4/23/21 to update/remove invalid links and add one new one. Note: I came back to my four-year-old post as reference to start work on the same model!
Dad or I will be starting on the Container Corporation (American Strawboard) building at some point in the near future. This was a brick structure that we will be building in HO.
Tree Help
Shortly before Christmas, I found a helpful video on YouTube for making N scale evergreen trees.
I'm at the point where I need to start making trees as I haven't found many ready made trees that look good (in N scale that is) so I decided to try the technique in the video.

I attached some pictures in the first response below.
New tree armature?
Hi gang. The other day I spotted an interesting plant. Goldcrest Wilma - Cupressus Macrocarpa.
This plant has a very nice structure that when dried might make a good basis for conifers.
Has anyone ever tried it?
Hairspray yes or no?
So I've seen several folks use hairspray as for grass, flock or trees. I was wondering about the flammability in using this, as I know it is flammable product and it contains Acetone.
So after it dries is it still highly flammable?
If so I think I would be very hesitant in using it on my layout.
