Does Negative Space strictly mean unused or uncluttered?

So, I have been devouring the book "Model Railroading As Art". By dumb luck I ended up with several areas that I believe fit the category of "Negative Space". However, I quickly felt the need to fill up that space.

Building of Memorial Falls HO scale

I recently wrapped up construction of Memorial Falls, this is a fictitious location set in the Cascade Mountain Range. It is loosely based on the area around tunnel #11 on Pengra Pass, but also takes notes from Multnohmah Falls on the Columbia River Gorge. I was challenged to build a scene detecting “For Glory and Honor” with the base being a maximum of 8” x 8” with up to 2” of overhang on all sides. The overall build ended up being 12”x12”x22” so a pretty good sized display diorama.

Double Stack Container Cars on Truss Bridges?

Will double stack container cars fit on the Central Valley truss bridges,...single or double track versions?

I think those are about the tallest cars we need to accommodate?

Do you think this proposed building is too big for HO?

Mock up made from a dog food box. I envision it as two stories with a loading dock on the front side. So the bottom part of the box would be foundation.

circular Foam cutting rasp file

Tim Paterson uses a circular rasp file to to mold terrain in pink foam.  I am trying to locate one however I have only found 2 and they are over a 100 bucks.  Not gonna happen at that price.  Anyone have a link  to one more reasonable ?

Cutting a curve on .040 styrene

What's the secret?  I'm trying to build a station platform on a 24" radius curve.  My hands are too shaky to cut it smoothly and it takes many passes with the knife to be able to cut through.  I considered using a fine-blade on a coping saw but was concerned it would shatter the styrene.  And no, I don't want to spend hundred of dollars on a Cricket or fancy electronic cutting knife.

Any suggestions?

K'nex pieces for structural details ???

One day, while slumming at the thrift shop, I came across bulk bags that had a mixture of Lego and K'nex. They were large bags and I could not see what all was in the bags, but the price was right. It occurred to me that I could find $2.99 worth of structural shapes and what not, so I purchased them.

Atlas Curved Cord Bridge

I've been a fan of these Atlas bridges for quite awhile, including when I put several of them on my first layout, the Central Midland.  They are made by Roco of Austria, and are a fine quality product.

On that original layout I sought out a double wide modification, and in that particular case I did not include the bottom deck floor portions. I also double-upped on that upper bracing piece

Fixing static grass mistakes

I've been using a Static King applicator with Woodland Scenics static grass. Some areas work well, others not so much.  I've been using the portable vacuum to to get some of the longer fibers to stand up better.  The long 12 mm fibers particularly tend to lie down.  I've noticed that small nail works pushed into the glue better for me than the metal device WS includes with their applicator.  I wish the Static King was somewhat smaller as some areas it doesn't fit into well.
