Faller Fair kits evaluation

I recently completed a Fair area on my little trolley layout (not so little anymore). My Fair area is comprised of all Faller Fair kits. The kits I got were the roller coaster, the shooting gallery, the orange juice stand, the swinging boats ride, and a couple of other stands. All total it was 9 structures.

inspection pit

Hey everyone. I need some help. I am scratch building a maintenance shop for my HO layout. But I am wanting to build a inspection pit for it. Problem is that I don't know how to build one. If you need photos to help you help me. I can post photos. Thanks!!!!!

Best plaster for scenery

Hi all.

I made the mistake of using drywall mud for scenery and, I now know, that was a bad choice. I chose it because it comes premixed but it took forever to dry and now it's got huge cracks and is crumbling. What's a good alternative?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Saving railroad history

I'll just throw this out there because I'm feeling quite pleased with the result. I've recently returned to model railroading after too long an absence. I recently retired and have begun a modest layout; I'm finding I feel an urgent need to accomplish some things before I'm too old to do them.

Black Polyfiber

Does anyone know of a source for black polyfiber? Micro Mart no longer stocks it.

Structure models from photos

I'd like to try to scratchbuild building from photos.  Can anyone provide me a step-by-step on how to do this?

Thanks!

Show us your layout's quarry or quarries

I'd love to see how quarries are modeled on layouts. Anyone have some shots to share? I've yet seen a deep pit or cliff side quarry modeled.
