I recall some very high recommendations for using mineral spirits for cleaning track (prior to any other coatings).

I picked some up the other day while in Walmart. When I went to use for cleaning something else it came out in a milky white color.

Is that really mineral spirits? I read the label and it appears to be one of those new fangled mixtures to protect ourselves.

Does anyone know if it is as effective as the old stuff??

I acquired a clearly used Atlas Golf GP-38 with a Loksound Select decoder.  When I run it, everything works ok except the front headlight blinks about once per second when in reverse and doesn't work at all when going forward. Rear headlight works fine as it is on when in reverse and off when in forward.   Before I go for the CV8 = 8 solution anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening that I can fix with JMRI?  I don't have a Lokprogrammer.  

I’ve been meaning to get photos of this turnout for a long time. A while back I was debating point lengths on various hinge point turnouts.  Well here is one that has no hinge!  I can confirm as I walked every inch of it about four times.  And gaps that ever did exist have been welded.  CN line along Grandview Highway in Vancouver at Kaslo Street. there is no doubt that cell phone cameras are these days can take great photos.  Most of my photos I take for forums and even for publication are taken with my Iphone camera.  The nice thing about a cell phone is that you can get it into areas that a camera can't, but you can't get it into all places.  Inside a cell phone the actual camera is tiny and it plugs into the phone with a small cable.  could an older phone be dedicated to just taking photos, and could the camera be removed and an extension cable be made to allow the actual little camera be placed on the
