PECO Electrofrog double-slip turnout wiring and diode-matrix control?
This is a bit of a "dummy check" question to make sure I understand how these work. It has four wiring connections, when held horizontally, one at each end for the "main frogs" and one on each side for the "side frogs". The frogs on each end are wired to the switch machine contacts (or Frog Juicer) on the opposite end, the side frogs don't change polarity so just go to the track bus wires?
Motorizing sector plate - circuit needed
I have a 2-position sector plate in the HO micro layout I am building (loosely based on the Box St. Yard plan). I would like to automate this - something like two buttons on the control panel - push one and it goes to one side and stops, push the other and it swings back again. The actual motorization seems easy enough, just need a slow speed-high torque motor to swing an arm to push and pull it just like the current manual lever, with a couple of lever-style micro switches to tell it to stop at each end. It only moves an inch or so.
Dcc question
I have a Athearn genesis with a decoder, The power trucks have been nothing but trouble, I would like you install a older set of athearns power trucks, So my question is can I solder the feeder wire's to each side of the trucks and would I have to insulate the power truck from the frame?
Thanks Chet
C/MRI on JMRI. My home made setup so far
My home made C/MRI set so far. I have been watching and reading all the information i can on this subject. Got lots of good stuff off this site.
Wiring Atlas Snap Switches to Control Panel
Hi there,
I am starting to wire up my control panel. I have 9 Atlas Snap switches that I would like to wire to toggle switches on my control panel rather than use the Atlas switch controllers. Is there a simple way to wire in a switch position indicator light? Any wiring diagrams would be welcome.
Thanks
Denis
Soldering station for DCC installation?
I have a good many decoders to hardwire into NIB but pre-dcc era N scale diesels. A soldering station purchase seems like a good idea.
Just now fished around online for a Weller WTCPT, but not sure if it is the best for the installation work or if a less expensive station by another manufacturer is just as capable.
Much appreciate advice.

Wide area IR detection
Here’s my idea:
Place IR-LEDs in the layout’s lighting valence – driven, perhaps,
by a picaxe at 38kHz (the freq. used by tv remotes). This will
flood the layout with IR – but should be easy to differentiate
from background light since it’s not only IR but at 38kHz pulses.
Anyone heard from TCS lately about status of Command Station/Throttle?
I've been waiting for this and trying not to buy the ESU CabControl.
Any updates would be appreciated.

JMRI with Prodigy Express question
So I downloaded JMRI and I have the computer interface cable. I am able to operate my locomotive through JMRI(I don't need to do that though), but I am unable to program on the main. I do not have a programming track. I could build a program track pretty easy, but is there any way to get this thing to program on the main? I keep getting error 306 when I try to write CV's and I can not read CV's at all. When I dont get error 306 using the 'write' tab, JMRI says 'ok', but nothing happens. Again, using MRC prodigy express as my DCC system.

Peco Spring Replacement
Where is a 'GOOD' video (and/or drawing) that details the replacement of the spring in a Peco code 100 turnout?
Using google nowadays gets you so much disinformation after suggesting only 1 or 2 videos,...and many of those are not very well done. I guess a lot of folks just want to get 'published', and they talk, and talk, and, talk without giving really good instruction.
I need some close-up shots to tell exactly where the spring ends reside.
