Digitrax DB150 beeps twice...
My DB150 appears to be doing the impossible. Beeping twice. There are explanations for every number of beeps in the manual, except two. It is being used in conjunction with a DCS100, and has been working fine, but suddenly it likes to continuously beep in pairs. Two beeps, pause, two beeps, pause, two beeps pause, etc.
What's up with that?
Using the SMAIL
Help.
I'm about half way through installing about 30 SMAIL turnouts on my layout. According to the manufacturer, they can be controlled via my Digitrax throttle.
I've been able to assign the correct turnout number to each SMAIL but some are backwards. The throttle shows them thrown when its closed and vice versa.
The directions on how to remedy this by changing CV584. I don't seem to be able to figure out how to change the value of the CV.
Any help out there?

Rotary Beacon ?
Hey guys,
I got one of the new scaletrain Southern Pacific SD40T-2 and want to add a rotary beacon to it. I want to take out the front red light in the nose and back lights so I can plate them over and make it look like it did before the UP took over. I’ve never messed with a dcc board before.
I’m assuming since I won’t be using the red or rear lights that I’ll have a spot to plug in the rotary beacon. Can anyone give me some tips on what to do or where I can find some simple instructions on hooking it up?

Which direction for decoder setup...
With the implementation of the new ESU - LokSound V5, I have a few new options to consider going forwards with my sound decoder installations.
I’ll be sticking solely with either a LokSound - Select Direct and/or a 21pin LokSound V5. The options are related to the addition of a keep-alive on future installs.
The following table shows the options I have:
DCC power district question?
Maybe some of you experienced DCC folks can help me figure out this problem. I have a digikeijs DR5000 command station hooked to two power districts ( bus a and bus e in the photo) and a DR5033 booster hooked to 3 power districts( bus b, bus c, and bus d). When I first got the Digikeijs command station I hooked it to bus a and the booster to bus b as they were the only sections of the layout with track.
MRC Control Master II checkup
This might seem a bit strange to ask, but how would you go about troubleshooting an old MRC power pack? I've started in on testing some estate sale rolling stock using this old Control Master II, and it seems ... wrong.

Need Help with Athearn Genesis Beacon/ Strobe Light
First let me admit that when it comes to the electrical side of this hobby I am a fish out of water. So I have a pretty basic question regarding Athearn Genesis strobe lights.
Need help with Quantum Sound Decoder
I have a Sunset Models 2-6-0 Mogul with a Quantum Sound Decoder.
I ran it recently via JMRI and Sprog3 Command Station, and played around with the function keys on my EngineDriver throttle. At some point certain functions stopped working, and the engine would no longer drive.
Since I had a roster in JMRI with the decoder information, I decided to reset the the decoder, which appeared to work fine, with no error messages, and the decoder appearing to provide proper feedback after rewriting each CV (e.g. engine was nudging forward after each write step).

Detecting Turnout Occupancy?
About to start wiring my Staging deck...and back when I was laying my turnouts down, I isolated them from the connecting tracks so their occupancy could also be detected (for future proofing)...I'm just not sure whether they should be at all.
Presuming use of JMRI at the beginning, while at some point in the future Staging would be fully automated and under computer control, I'm looking for some kind of a "best practice" whether turnout occupancy is necessary or not.
Turnout Frogs - How Big?
I'm looking at building some high-speed turnouts but how big do I go? Obviously 1:8 is mainstream but can I go to 1:16 and higher? This is H0 scale, NMRA standards (no P87 etc.) and no moving components in the frogs.
