DCC in a box for modular layouts?

Hello all,

I've been working on a Free-moN module (almost done, and getting ready to start another) and I was wondering if anyone's ever assembled a complete DCC system in a transportable case to use with modules at shows, meets, etc. I have several ideas, but I'd like to see how others have done it.

Thanks,

Andrew

DPDT to Rotary switch for turnout control

Giday Folks

I am in the process of installing a few of the Proto 87 Moles on my layout for my turnout controls. I had full intentions of using a DPDT switch to operate the machines but am now considering using a rotary switch instead. I could use these to better show the direction of the turnout. My problem is in order to do this I have no idea what type of rotary switch to buy or the proper pin arrangement to wire it. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

Allan

I think I know the answer but I'll ask anyway

I have a small kink in my track that I did not discover until I ran a larger locomotive.  Is there any way to fix it without taking up the track.  It is where two sections of track meet on a curve.

Looking for suggestions.

Weathering CVT Ties before I install the rail

I'm getting ready to install my first batch of CVT ties.  I have the homabed down and primed.

laying track with glue

Hi guys - just thought I'd share this because i was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked.

I just added a removable staging fiddleyard which is essentially a 12 inch wide sheet of MDF containing 5 staging tracks. Since it is installed in front of my wife's storage shelf it has to be very easy to remove!  I wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any nails sticking out the back, as this could be a pain (literally) when moving the unit, so I thought i would try some type of glue.

Puzzling performance of Atlas GP-15 with Digitrax replacement board

Hi everyone. I have two N-Scale Atlas GP-15 locos that have Digitrax DN163A4 installed.

One of them performs perfectly but the other has a severely limited top speed. A crawl is about all it will do. I have made no adjustments to either decoder other than changing the address of each. I have checked CV 5 and 6 and both are set to 0 on each loco.

Any bright ideas?

David

UR91 PROBLEM

I got 2 UR91s that I got hooked up to the layout.  I started having this problem with them both hooked up in the line together, they would stop working on radio.  I would unhook one and the other would work, same with the other one also. Both ID's are the same. I took them both off the layout and hooked them straight into the DCS100 and it would work perfect, same for the other. I hook them back into the layout where they are on the same line around the layout and they quiet working if both are hooked up. I don't know what the problem is, someone know?
