rough crossing

Hello all I am currently building a new ho layout I am using micro engineering code 83 flex and building my turnouts with fast tracks jig and tools, they take a little time to build but I am happy with the results so far. I have a 60 degree crossing in the plan and I am using an atlas code 83  60 is there anyway to make a train run smoother through the crossing, my engines and cars both bounce up going through it and I am not sure what to do to fix it or if it is fixable. Also are  walthers crossings any better.
Thanks for any info.

Powering Tortoise Switch Machines

I will have 8 tortoise switch machines on my small layout. Am using Digitrax Zephyr Extra. What are the pros and cons and whys of running the switch machines off the Digitrax using a stationary decoder (thinking DS44) VS. using a separate power supply for the switch machines and associated signaling LED's?

Ohm's Law

Dave (with the moniker HVT) raised a question on another thread about resistor calculation.

So as not to hijack the thread, I've moved that discussion over here.

Dual vs single speaker in steam locomotive tender

Just picked up 2 BROADWAY LIMITED ATSF 2-10-2 for $300. Think i got them for a good deal. And boy do they pull with the traction tires on !

both were non sound but dcc ready. I also picked up 2 soundtraxx heavy sound decoders to install. When i removed the tender shell i noticed the tender frame has provisions for 2 speakers. I have done plenty of sound installs but have always used just a single speaker. What is the genral thought with speakers? Use 2 when you can or single speaker if lack of space.?

What are the pro and con?

My Website - www.MrDCCU.com

Well, I've done a facelift on my website:

Mr. DCC's University (www.mrdccu.com) has been redone. Unfortunately, the new site came with a new set of file names.

SO, your old links will probably not work. Sorry!

Hope you all like the new look. I do. Also, it will be easier to maintain. I might even get some new installation notes up there now.

Track , what type

Hi everybody .

A friend came across some track from his Grandfather . He found about 70 pieces and asked me if I could use it so I said let me take a look at it . I'm modeling in HO so I have no use for it . I think it's American Flyer but not sure , could someone tell me what scale it is . He is looking to sell it but I have no idea even what it,s worth , any clues out there ?

      Thanks as always
