Adapting the "Keep Alive" for use with Railpro? - Circuit Guru's please help. - UPDATE: It Works!
I am genuinely frustrated with the performance of a few of my locomotives around my turnouts and I really want to try TCS Keep Alive's with them.
The problem is that the RailPro is not natively KA friendly.
As I understand it, if I would simply wire the KA to the power leads, it would work one way, but if the power was reversed (loco turned) then the KA will burn out.

Turnout that will substitute in for curve?
I am building a yard right now and so far, been using Atlas #6 turnouts, which are fine. However the geometry of the Atlas #6 doesn't let them well to substitute for a curve since they diverging track has a long straight section in it. Now sometimes I do trim or cut track to fit better, but the Atlas #6 have a long straight section and I'd have to cut the turnout back to the frog really, so I'd rather search for a turnout that fits better this particular application.
DT402R
I have an older DCS 50 (2.5 amp) and I have a UR91 connected to it. But when I use my DT402R wirelessly it seems to have issues sending messages to the locomotive. I keep thinking it is my wiring, but when I plug it into the DCS 50 or the UR 91 it works perfectly, unplug it problems again. I'm stumped, could someone who has seen this issue let me know what they determined caused it and how did you fix it? Thanks

Is anyone using the new Rapido electromagnetic uncoupler?
I thought I saw a video clip on this a while back, but can't find it now and am considering these as an alternative to making my own.
Anyone have any experience with them?
Thanks

Potentiometer or encoder? Seeking NCE throttle buying advice
Hi all,
I'm currently using an NCE PowerCab system to run (what will eventually be) a small modular/shelf layout, and I'd like to purchase an NCE Cab06 engineer throttle for use as my primary throttle due to the latter's compact size and more minimal design. On the NCE throttles there are two control knob options: a potentiometer with physical stops at the minimum and maximum rotation of the knob, and a digital encoder that turns freely with no physical stops. I'm hoping the MRH community can offer some buying advice to help me choose between the two.

Installing a turnout on a grade
OK, other than some of the obvious do's and don'ts when it comes to installing a turnout on a grade (such as do not put it within the 1.5x the length of the turnout towards the start or end of the grade) what other things should I take mind of. If I place the turnout after the grade I loose a potential 6' of siding length, and that would make the siding too short for practical use. So I'm thinking of installing it and leaving 30" of grade after the turnout.
Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

Tortoise Control and Indication
I need some help from the electronics experts out there. I'm looking to clean up my layout wiring and want to simplify the installation of future tortoises and LEDs.
I'm using bi-color LEDs to indicate alignment of turnouts. Green indicates the route alignment of the points and red is the unaligned path.
Determining a car's direction of travel
Good day - at the East Coast Large Scale Train Show (held in York, PA last week) a gentleman who attended my presentation asked if I could come up with a way to determine the direction of travel of a passenger car.
He had a G-Scale USA Trains observation car that had directional lighting. It worked properly when operated by standard track power but he was using constant track power with a radio control system so the lights never changed. The same issue would come up with DCC or battery operated trains.

ME turnout details - Add or not?
This is not about right or wrong. Just an informal "add the add-on details or not?". I'm thinking of not adding the detail to turnouts that are out of sight or maybe not adding to turnouts where one side is not visible to a viewer. I get a headache thinking of 25 turnouts with 8 rails clamps each!
Thoughts?
