What's New at the Railroad Hobby Show
Sat, 2019-01-26 08:48 — jeffshultz
Okay, this is going to be cell phone photos at first, and DSLR shots later tonight.
Update: someone asked that I explain where the Railroad Hobby Show is. Indeed, up until a few years ago, I had no idea what people were talking about when they mentioned "the Springfield show."
The Railroad Hobby Show is put on by the Amherst Railway Society at the Eastern States Exposition Center (Big E) in West Springfield, Massachusetts in late January or early February. Thus it is known as "The Railroad Hobby Show," "The Big E show," "The Amherst Show," or "The Springfield Show."

Here are a couple better photos of the new 1956-66 Mack B-81:

Arrowhead
I went over to check out Arrowhead's new fine scale wheelsets... only to find out that Blaine had completely sold out of them already.
I did discover that he's selling the Apex 1955 and Miner 1942 Handbrake and Appliance sets from his Committee Design Hoppers separately:

It's only 9pm Pacific....
But it's midnight eastern, which is the time zone I woke up in at 5:30am this morning.
I'm going to bed. I've got more stuff from PWRS/NARC, San Juan Models, Intermountain, and Spring Mills Depot - maybe more.
There are a lot of layouts waiting to roll out as well.

I know others have said it
but I haven't yet. Many thanks for bringing these visuals to those of us that couldn't attend the event.
Arrowhead Brake Gear Sets
The 1942 Miner hand brake and appliance set is the first product (other than the TCS KA's) shown at Amherst that i might buy.
The bright side of this
The bright side of this lineup for me is that I’ll be saving a lot of money on new stuff. No worry though, there’s always plenty of models, supplies and literature to buy.

Miller Engineering
I have to admit it - I think Miller Engineering has the neatest display in the whole show.

InterMountain
If anyone had told me I'd be posting 30 photos of InterMountain, I'd have told them they were crazy. InterMountain never brings that much new stuff.

Some of these go with the above flyer - but the one in the upper right doesn't:
So here it is alone:

More from Atlas -
I couldn't get any descent photos of the Atlas announcement posters. So I asked them to send them to me. But I forgot to ask for the N scale one....

Evenings are too short
Still to come, Spring Mills Depot, San Juan Models, and PWRS/NARC. And a whole lot of layouts.
But first... bed.
