Catenary Up and Running at Dunes Junction

After some fits and starts, catenary is up and running on my Dunes Junction layout. Woo hoo! The video below shows my latest test of a mainline crossover. The South Shore-style lattice bridge poles and wire sections are from Model Memories.

50 Shades?

Ummmm . . . . . . .

Pokey Progress: Main Deck Benchwork

On my last layout post I showed the helices leading up to the main deck and some initial main deck frame work going in. I just completed the main deck and am now ready to start laying some track, so I thought I'd post a few more pictures for the benefit of those who have been interested in following the construction progress.

"Boulder Ridge" Free-moN Module (2'x6')

So it begins.

Never built a layout, never even ran an engine on a layout. Don't know a whole lot about nothing and much about some.

After several years of reading, searching and nail biting for the opportunity to have my own fairytale world where I could manipulate the caricatures and play God in sculpting a perfect landscape, I hit paydirt; N scale Free-moN.

Somewhere Southwest

"Somewhere Southwest" is a switching layout in H0-scale. It is located where it's hot&dry - in the southwest of the United States.

A different kind of interlocking system

Previously I have expressed concern about trains driving into the abyss when my drop bridge wasn't in place.  I prefer to have a physical barrier as this will stop a train dead in its tracks (pardon the pun) instead of an electrical solution, as much because I am not much of an electrician as anything else.  I expect my kids to be running trains occasionally so child proof is important as well.

Monashee Pass Railway – A new layout

Hi, I have been a spectator of MRH for a couple of years now, this being my first post. So why not introduce myself with a new layout that I have started. I have been model railroading since the early 1990's. Construction is probably my favourite part of the hobby. I enjoy building kits, kit-bashing, scratch building and detailing structures, freight cars, locomotives and such. I will post updates on my progress on the layout in this thread if you wish to follow along.

Circus comes to town

Circus comes to town

Come on, everyone loves the circus right ? After watching Ken Patterson's videos I started thinking about scenery and photography differently. I also make videos, not as good as Ken's but I try my best.
