Time stamping the Seaboard Central

For some time I had always kept my Seaboard Central layout set in the present day. One advantage of being a Railroader is having access to the UMLER database which allows one to check the validity of a car number. However, as time went on some of my rolling stock which had good car numbers a few years ago when I purchased them have either been restenciled to new numbers or perhaps even scrapped! To complicate things further over the past year I have been contracting out work on some of my equipment to match current photos.

First kit build attempts..

Took home two Accurail Center flow hoppers to work on today from the club meeting. As usual I forgot to take pictures (getting 6th graders to sit down and stop being grabby is harder than herding cats) with all the chaos, but here at home I got some. Overall it is a good kit but getting the detail parts in was a pain and a screwdriver/drill is a useful tool for making them larger.

EDIT: Changed name since adding more cars.

How to get the Member Bonus Downloads on a mobile device.

I was trying to get/look at some of the September downloads but it just opened a new blank tab. Is it possible to get them on a mobile device or no? and could we get some videos that work well with a Mac, I always have to open it with the VLC converter when on a computer.

Titchy Train Reefer Build

Well I decided to tackle a Tichy Pacific Fruit Express kit. I've accumulated a couple of these from EBay buys.

The Kit looks to have quite a few parts and looks fairly detailed. So we'll see how this adventure works out.

Backwoods Water Tower from $1.00 Birdhouse On30

Water tank complete.  I am still adding pics to the follow the build in discussion forum for scenery and structures.  Check out pictorial build titled Backwoods Water Tank From $1.00.

Kingsbury Ave done

Kingsbury Avenue, all 9 feet of it, is paved from one end to the other. What a project this was! Fitting all the pieces into each turnout was the most difficult part. Good thing I made templates of all 3 sections. That made it much easier. Still tedious, but easier. Now to do some weathering on the surface. Add some manhole covers. Tar patches. Small potholes, etc, etc.

Minaturisation and animation

I came across this YouTube video of the recent Wadebridge (Cornwall, UK) model railway show.

Right at the end, starting at 6.24 is some animation of a GWR log loader.  It really is minaturisation!  No idea how it is done and there is no information on the layout or builder.  Looks like it is scratch built.
