Wishram, Oregon & Western

Well, I figured I should post some pics of my Wishram lokeys and the paint schemes developed.  Reckon I am sorta like the "Rock", always room for something a bit different paint wise.blush

First off is a heavily detailed, kitbashed GP60 from an Athearn GP50.  Tis a bit modern for me, but I just could not resist:

Making platform for the main station

I maybe should have reserved more length on the layout for the main station platform?

My Day at the Seattle (Puyallup), Washington WGH show

A couple of weeks ago my father-in-law asked if I wanted to drive up to Puyallup, WA (a little over 3 hours away) for the WGH show. It had been talked up a bit in the latest email blast from the NMRA's Pacific NW Region, and he thought that Digitrax was going to be there, and he had a question for them. Unfortunately, Digitrax was not there (I imagine they were prepping for the Railroad Hobby Show in Springfield, MA) so he is going to have to contact them separately (if anyone knows if there are any issues with using LiON 9V batterys in UT4R throttles, please mention it...).

Modern proto87 freelance layout.

Hello all. Many of you do not know me, as I have been in the shadows and creeping on everyone else's work, absorbing ideas, learning techniques, studying prototype data, etc. I guess what I'm getting at is that for me to stop stalling and continually work on my home railroad is to set daily, weekly, monthly timeframes and to tell you, complete strangers (well not totally, I know many of you, but you know...) about my progress. So here goes... but first a background story, to ease you into the back alley of my mind.

Transitioning to flextrack, much faster progress

I've gotten the hang of putting down ME c55 flextrack. Took me about 8 hours to get the first 15' of handlaid track down. It's taken me less than six hours to install about 24' of flex. You can see the spot in the middle of each section of track with 20 ga. feeders soldered to the bottom web of each rail. Code 55 is really too short to hide feeders attached to the sides well. Man, those ME rail joiners are a pain in the butt, tho.

Last Update on my Garve and Ullapool Railway Layout

Due to a house move and change of workplace, I have to tear down my layout.

My new train room is smaller than the actual one, And there is no place for Ullapool and Inverlael. But my other modules could be reused. I will keep you up to date with my new layout.

Help - Detection and Signaling Strategy

Shown is my trackplan for moving into the yard. Track 94 to be the through track with 92 & 93, being arrivals and departures. My question is.... should turn outs 96/95 be separate blocks or could they be joined into 1 block for Detection and Signaling purposes?

Thank You,

ViewerMail Flight #52 - Just realized you’ve been mistakenly using Preparation H for toothpaste.

Dressing up as an M&M and running through the mall yelling, “the Skittles are coming the Skittles are coming,” got you arrested.

All your Facebook friends came for a sleep over??

Well fear not ViewerMail is here and won’t help you solve any of your problems but will help put you to sleep,

Blair Line Sam's Roadhouse on the S&NE

I needed a "seedy" building just outside the gates of the freight yard and Blair Line's Sam's Roadhouse seemed to fit the bill. Their description is:
