Spackle Saturday
I think I just found what I dislike the most when building a layout. Today was Spackle the facia Saturday. 260 feet of sanding and spackling, and I am 2/3 done with coat #2 ( out of three ). I am white, the room is white, the dogs are white, and the wife wants to know why there is "smoke" coming from the basement. Despite my best rube-goldberg vacum set up that dust goes everywhere...!!!!
I just keep telling myself, you only have to do it once..........
What's on My Work Bench?

Stuff I Don't Care About on the 8th Sub
With every model, every scene, there reaches a point where I'm satisfied with it, or at least have decided that whatever ails it will receive no further attention. In the interests of getting a large home layout to a reasonable level of completion, I have to prioritize where I direct my efforts. Sometimes people will comment about why a particular item hasn't been "improved" with some extra attention. The usual reason is that I DON'T CARE. It's that simple. I made the call about where something has fulfilled its purpose for me, and lef
Why that complicated?
(sorry for my poor English, I'm foreigner from non English speaking country)
I like read of model railroading magazines. The US one are good for me. Because I'm located in central europe, then magazines are for info only. Our real railroad world is little different.
I'm surprised, how complicated systems are used in US. I know, that you are not using multi layer layouts, then you can use "that big" switch machine as Tortoise is. But I'm surprised, that you not use DCC and if, then so complicated. I created very simple DCC decoder.
Acrylic on wood | York Industries pt 1
Recently I lost the drive to build for a week or two. I have a feeling it had something to do with work, it is a busy time of year for farmers. Thing is I use this hobby like a medicine and sometimes you need the discipline to stay healthy. And for me, the self-diagnosed needs a few hours in the shop every week.
Model a wooden shed with that beautiful silver gray aged look

More weathered cars
Here are more weathered cars and locos I have done for the Hitop, or have done for friends and/or have on EBay. You can see these on my website, or on my Facebook page where I offer to do custom weathering called "The Weathering Depot"
COSCOL: East Coast Short Line Railroad Company
Hi All,
As well as planning the track layout for my new industrial shelf switching layout I have been developing the back story to the railroad that operates there. I wanted to have a fully rounded layout that had good reasons for being there. It may not have existed but it could have.
Magnets for Static Grass Application?
I did try browsing around the web on this but can't find anything as to why this works. I see in the MRR guide to basic scenery it says wrap a magnet around the cap of the static grass bottle and it will work simillar to an applicator I have yet to try this and was wondering if it even worked and if so how?
