Siskiyou Line 2 update as of July 2021
Before I decided to dismantle my Siskiyou Line layout, MRH began promoting a home layout building scheme we called TOMA — The “One Module” Approach. Modelers were happy to learn about TOMA as we explored it with a TRAINMASTERS TV project layout series, which we completed.
I always wanted a staging/fiddle yard.
Since the modeled portion of my layout depicts from New Windsor to Highfield, how to represent the eastern end where it connects to CSX was always problematic. My layout is in a finished portion of my attic and there is a ten foot section where the roof is a 45 degrees down to a hip-wall. Incorporating this into the layout was difficult. I finally tackled the project and built a shelf along the wall with a lift-out section to be able to access the attic storage area.
CP Rail's Newport & Lyndonville Subdivision
About a year ago I started a Facebook Group dedicated to construction of my layout and sharing photos as I went, but unfortunately I haven't been posting much on the MRH forum. I'd like to continue sharing the layout construction on the MRH website, a page dedicated solely to Model Railroading/Prototype Railroading. A little background, since my early teens, I’ve been fascinated by railroad operations along the Connecticut River in Vermont, locally known as the Conn River Line.

3D printed Shay, Engine design done and working
its about time, this took way longer than I thought it would, but it is done and working well. I still have a few details I am going to add (blowdown valves, oil cups, etc).
by the way, in case you did not know, the set of cylinders on a Shay is referred to as the "engine", just so there is no confusion.
Looking for assistance! -N Scale single slip switches
Experimenting with some N Scale singles slip switches today.
I am hoping to build a new yard with the slip switches and laid them out temporarily to see how well they perform.
Ferromex in Mazatlan - a GE haven
Mazatlan was a Super 7 and Dash 7 haven in the late 1990's. If you want to model with a GE focus then Ferromex might be a good choice. More here: https://ageologistchasingtrains.blogspot.com/2021/07/mexico-mazatlan-1998-and-2000.html
