3D printed Shay, third run test, much better
I have been working out details on my 3D printed Shay. I am at the point that it runs. I now have to go and reprint some parts and include some of the changes I made. The goal is to be able to just print it and put it together without any work to get it to fit together.
Not One, but TWO Awesome Layouts! Video Tour of HO+O scale Layouts
I recently visited a friend, and I was able to film his 2 amazing layouts. His O gauge layout is his pride and joy, but I think his HO layout is pretty darn good too...
Favorites Blog and well wishes
First off to Joe and his wife. The fact that you even got the issue out is amazing dedication. Rest and get well first and for most. Second, does anyone know if there is a way to make a favorites list of the blogs you like to follow so you don't have to hunt them down? Its probably staring me right in the face and I just don't see it.
Thanks,
Wayne
PRR Branchline Terminal
Since retiring last summer and moving to central Pennsylvania, I’ve been working on this layout, designed for me by Rob Chant. The benchwork is built on top of IKEA Ivar shelving in a corner of our basement family room. The theme is an early post-WW 2 (1947) PRR branchline terminal in central PA.
Programming an ESU V5 decoder to run like the Prototype
Hi All,
Here’s the latest video from my Seaboard Central channel. In it I show how I program a ScaleTrains SD40-2 to run just like the prototype.
Hope you find it useful! Thanks for watching! Tim

Improving Athearn RTR Loco Electrical Pick Up
I picked up a new/old-stock Athearn RTR SD40T-2 a few years back and only just now got around to installing a RailPro LM-3S receiver into it. Let me back up a bit and state that the loco ran just fine on straight DC-only power. Fast-forward to today: AFTER installing the RailPro receiver and soldering any/all connections in the loco, it ran incredibly erratic! It would run a bit, stop, start, run, stop, start, yadda, yadda. When standing still and just touching one of the trucks, it would lose power.
